:: ECS Tuning :: PIERBURG Water Pump|Keep Your Cool

Don't settle for a new water pump for your N52; demand a "wasserpumpe" from Germany, by Pierburg. The N52 coolant pump is not belt-driven. Electrically operated, it allows faster engine warm ups and saves horsepower. Problem is, when it quits, your engine overheats--right now. Prevent overheating. If your N52 water pump is making warning sounds, head off trouble. Install a premium Pierburg "wasserpumpe" and avoid the inconvenience and substantial expense of an overheated engine.

Aluminum mounting bolts are one-time-use and should be replaced when installing a new water pump.

Pierburg is the manufacture of the factory pump. These are an aftermarket high quality plug and play option for the N52.

Is it worth saving $50 and going with aftermarket as opposed to Genuine BMW?

Pierburg is the manufacture of the pump for BMW, both are externally high quality pumps with the only notable difference being the BMW packaging.

Question???

2008 BMW 335i sedan

-Plastic housing on my water pump has a hairline crack in it
-Made by 'Continental'

Question 1 = Why are they saying Pierburg is the OEM brand name when mine has never been replaced and it says 'Continental' as the brand?

Question 2 = Judging by the photo in this picture, the electrical connector is different than what my car has

I am wanting to go with a pump that has a metal impeller housing vs. the SHITTY plastic one. Why would a car manufacturer use plastic on a part the endures such heat!?

UGH!!!!!

Thanks for the help guys!

Travis,
Pierburg makes the N52 pump. Your N54 is going to have a VDO/Continental (VDO is a brand of Continental). The two pumps are a bit different as you've noticed.

HERE is a link to the water pumps for your 08 335i.

Per BMW yes, you'll need the kit found HERE for the 130i E87 with N52b30.
