Just use a cheap phono from the sky box to your amp.

You don't have an optical input anyway.

Why are people getting so confused. Optical or digital coax will serve the same purpose, same quality. The op doesn't need any converters all he needs is a coax cable to run from coax out of sky+ to coax in of amp. This is a digital signal.

What I can't see is what outputs your amp has. Do you have the full 5 speakers and sub woofer or only the 2 stereo speakers. If you only have 2 speakers then phono is fine, if you have 5.1 speakers use coax.

The speaker connectors are out of shot but theres 6. A sub, a long thin centre one and 4 surround ones, 2 of which i dont use as they're on these huge horrible stand things.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions, going to get the digi coaxial this weekend and give it a whirl. Hope the neighbours are out.

That will only give analogue stereo and not digital 5.1

No, I am saying just grab one of those from around the house somewhere and hook the digital connections up.
Don't go buying a digital coax cable for a sky box and an all in one system, no point.

Just seen this thread, I have a similar issue. If I post some pictures up tomorrow can you assist me too please? Sky HD box with LED telly and a 3.1 Sound system. I currently have a snakes wedding behind the TV and haven't a clue how i wired everything together.
