If the front and rear wheels are different widths, putting square tires on them will just recreate the original problem, and you'll wreck your transfer case in a month.

You need a setup that keeps the rolling diameters between the front and rears basically the same (within a 1% difference).

For those wheel sizes, 225/35 fronts, and 255/30 rears would work. You could probably run 235/35, 265/30 just fine as well if you wanted a meatier-looking tire.

I also have a 328xi and I've researched on this extensively, because I don't want to muck up my car lol.

If you want to run a square tire setup then you can't have staggered wheels; a wider wheel in the rear means more surface area that the tire must stretch to cover, which will result in a difference in diameter even if the tire sizes are "the same". It won't be much, but it'll be enough I think to stress out your awd system.

It's not that complicated. If you want to run a staggered setup, this is the way it is. The sizes I suggested above is the cookie-cutter setup that most xi guys run with no issues. If you don't want to worry or think about it, then don't run staggered. Just get a square wheel setup, with which you can just throw on square tires and run no problem. If you want looks (stance?) with a square setup you can just get wider tires and throw spacers in the rear.

Go to our tires forum, theres a tool at the top. Stick with the 235/35 265/30

EDIT: Im currently running 19x8.5 19x10. Its nice, but impractical for us AWD guys. My next setup will prob be 19x9.5 all around. Lots more benefit for AWD to go squared.

Squared setup means less understeer with the narrower rear stance. Having a square setup also means you're able to rotate the wheels as needed for even tire tread wear. In addition, having the narrower rear wheels means you probably shave off a few pounds (unless you go super wide on all corners), resulting in your ride being marginally quicker off the line and slightly easier on the gas.

Staggered setups for our xi cars is purely for stance/looks. It offers no benefit for performance whatsoever.
