Interesting question

I hope someone can answer this for me.
I have THREE leds that are not working on my right turn signal which drops the resistance and causes an error on the dash and forcing the turn signal to flash faster.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
Instead of dropping good amount of money (out of warranty here) on new tail light, can I install load resistor (same as the one used when you replace regular bulbs with leds) and "trick" the system that I do have the correct load?

This should not cause the fast blinking and the error, the only drawback is i have three less leds blinking in the back, WHICH I would be fine with.

Thank you.

I thought their was a service bulletin or something on this problem, i would contact BMW since they did a recall within the last couple years on the E 46 for tail and stop light problems.

You don't have to be under warranty for a recall

But it's not a recall, it's a service bulleting announcement, which is replaced only if you are under warranty free of charge.

am I mistaken?

Thank you.
