Rotor, we'll have to do another duo shot after we get the summers on. I have a couple of ideas for camera angle. We need to get a better location though.

Well, it's 95 miles for me and about 127 miles from Rotor, so it would be a bit of a hike. But hey, I drove to Dover, DE and Philly and back yesterday.

in that case, just hit me up when you are putting philly on your date book, so I have notice. maybe we can arrange a photo shoot.

I just got a new lens, so I have the itch to shoot again.

I think we should be able to work something out meet-wise with the right notice. i have some projects coming up, but you may motivate me to concentrate on tying together the exterior rather than installing the fun underside bits...

Cssnms, think you'd be in? I know you have one of the most nicely presented d's locally.

My next Philly trip is 30 April to pick up the new wheels and tires, and for them to handle two punch list items from the work they did last month. It may take them all day, so end of the afternoon would be when I would be heading by the area you cited. If the day is nice, that's a better time to take pictures anyway.

where are you picking all that up?
I have a good tip for tires.
amazon has a seller called buywheelstoday. they have a website.
but use amazon.
they have better pricing than tirerack. great feedback.
had the tires in 2 days.
free shipping, etc.
sign up for the amazon visa and you get $50 or $100 off your first order, can't remember which.

Total for This Shipment: $854.00 to my door
for 2 265/35/18
and 2 235/40/18

Sorry been busy...

Guys we have a couple of things coming up locally that would present a great opportunity for such a get together.

The Pie Run touring event is this Sat - my pie is ordered and assuming we have good weather I am registered to go - registration details can be found in the Mid Atlantic sub forum. My older brother is riding his BMW K1300 and his son/my nephew is riding shot-gun with me. You do not need to be a BMW CCA member to go, you just have to register.

Bimmerfest is in July at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen which makes it more convenient for folks traveling from Del or PA. Registration below. I hate being only one of a couple of d's that make it - actually I don't it's kinda nice having a rare car at such a large scale event.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/bmw-events...est-East-2013/

Oh and there is MFest in Baltimore - not nearly the turn-out of Bimmerest but a good meet if you don't have anything else going on.

Lol. Thanks for taking that one out of context, Jeff...

You have to love that EPA requirements essentially mandate that we have the primary ingredient of urine injected into our exhaust in order to reduce NOx and SOx which dealers then tend to spill all over our cars. The truck guys have affectionately named Diesel Exhaust Fluid "pig piss"...they're an elegant bunch, those fellows

For the sake of anyone stumbling across the quote in the future...

ok, ladies and gents, I have a dedicated picture thread over in the photo forum for the progression of my RG-Rs over the last few months, but I thought you guys/gals might appreciate these shots of my diesel!

Hope you like it! It's been an excruciatingly long winter waiting for the parts to come in and get put on, but I'm pretty pleased with how it is sitting today. I think some Cyba dry carbon tips and the OE CF lower performance spoiler should tidy up the look nicely, but I'm not sure if I'll do that or head down the performance mod route.

RRT managed to get me 1.1deg of camber in the front on completely stock components & I'd love to see what they could milk out of the M3 bits.

Rotor, very cool looking. Remind me where you got the blue 335d badge? Oh yeah, the same as the wheels, right? And how do you guys get the badge elements back on straight? VAC got -1.8 both sides on mine.

Thank you, sir! I really like how dynamic the paint is, but it makes it rather challenging to capture the essence in a photo (especially with my limited abilities).

The badge install wasn't bad at all actually. I'm pretty obsessive about these sorts of things, so I marked off the border to the letters with painters tape before removing the old badge (using the standard hair dryer & floss method). Cleaned the area with goof off, polished, waxed, then added the new blues (maybe 10 minutes all in). Honestly, I really liked the symmetry of the rear with no badge, but I felt like I had to represent for the diesel crowd...if I decide to put the "BMW Performance Diesel" tag holder on, I may remove the 335d.

John at YOWS (Ye Old Wheel Shop in Elkridge, MD for the non-locals) was kind enough to paint the badge for me while he was refinishing the wheels. I'm a big fan of consistency, and I wanted to make sure that they matched the wheels perfectly.

Yes, I'm itching to do the front m3 bits now that I feel the difference that just removing the alignment pins made. Was 1.7 with or without the camber plates?

P.S. Let me know when you get those winters off (pictures are, of course, mandatory) and maybe we'll try to meet up with Rye one day for a shoot!

Very sick FR! With your white colour, I'd consider vinyl wrapping your roof as it would look sweet IMO. As for the front camber, if you're on coils or lowered at all, you should consider camber plates in order to get the camber equal on either side.

Thanks Greek!

On the roofing front, my taste only allows me to do real CF or stock white...we'll see if I ever do the former, 'twould be pretty mean. I'm riding on stock M-Sport suspension, but I will definitely keep that in mind when it comes time to change out the springy bits!

Very nice! This is the first time I've seen another bimmer with the CF grilles like mine. I'd say the dry carbon tips are a fantastic idea. I've had them for a couple of months and they've held up pretty well. Even the guy that wielded them praised Cyba's quality. Wish my car was an m-sport though so it would look nice with a CF diffuser. Some people think 4" tips (only size available for dry carbon) are too large and ricey but I think it looks nice and subtle.

Thanks, AH!

That's funny. I bet those are the same folks who would never be able to tell the difference between 4.0" and 3.8" (cybas standard size) without seeing them next to eachother. . There's another guy locally that has them and I think I'm going to check them out before placing my order to ensure that they fit the look I'm going for...I'm hoping that I agree with you're perception of subtlety, but its tough to tell with pictures.
