Not sure how serious you intended that post to be Will but I'd say that's a very valid point.

Nice one LINGsCARS (made sure I got that right)! I haven't read the PH thread but did read the .pdf of the exchanges with the ASA. Good for you calling them out on this. Ridiculous. I imagined that at some point a senior ASA manager would step in and put a stop to it all but they obviously wouldn't back down.

I love the site. It's a bit crazy and it takes me ages to demolish it using this js:

javascript:var%20s%20=%20document.createElement('s cript');s.type='text/javascript';document.body.appendChild(s);s.src='ht tp://erkie.github.com/asteroids.min.js';void(0);

Nick you strike me as having been a bit dense if you couldn't smell the sarcasm from 50 miles away !!!

With my UX head on the site is terrible. It breaks every accessibility guideline that has ever been thought of and contains every design gimmick from the last 10 years, most of which have been rightfully hidden at the bottom of the history bin.

However......
With my branding head on it's a stroke of genius. You are engrossed in Lings crazy world in this site, even the boring legal stuff is written to fit with the brand and like djgandy pointed out it goes right down to the ASCII art in the source. All other car leasing sites are magnolia paint compared to this. It's memorable, it's fun and it's unique. The lady is a genius.

My thoughts were similar. As a case study on web design it is a terrible website. However it actually appears that it is terrible by design and it has been developed by someone who knows what they are doing rather than just being so terrible as a result of poor quality work.

It's actually pure genius!
