Question lookingfor advice

I have a 2009 Bmw 328I with the Bmw professional radio. I have no idea if its the base unit or HiFi. It does have an amp in the trunk. I'm looking to upgrade. I'm thinking about keeping the head unit for now but replacing the speakers, amp and processor . I'm looking for a crisp but louder sound with way more mid bass and higher highs. This is what I had in my Infiniti. I guess none of this will fit in the Bmw.

Head unit Alpine INA-W900BT
Front Alpine SPR-60C 6-1/2" Component 2-Way Speaker System
Rear Alpine SPR-60 6-1/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker Set 61/2" Coaxial 2-Way Speaker Set
Alpine PDX-5
Alpine 12 type s subwoofer in a sealed box
Alpine's PXA-H701 audio processor

Do you have tweeters? If no, I'm guessing you have a base stereo. Contact Technic or Ken. They will show you the way to improve the sound in your car.

Read the above and study it to .

There is a list of speakers that will fit in it.

If you stay will the stuff in the above thread you can get good results
with minimal trouble.

Changing the Head Unit in one of these can have side effects be sure
you understand them before taking action.

ok, read all 5 pages....so many questions. first my budget $1000 looking to get a great pair of front 4" component speakers, about in amp that will bolt in easy into the factory head unit and replace the subs under the seat. I do have 2 alpine PDX5 amps. is there a harness to take place of the factory amp or will i have to run all new wiring?

Your system is HiFi (10 speakers, 6ch OEM amp).

This is what I did with my HiFi system:

can I just unplay the factory amp, and use the harness play in the Alpine amp? or do I still have to hook up the power, ground and remote signal wire. how do the speakers hook up? do you have to cut in the harness? im not sure how it works. I tried to search YouTube for an install but could not find anything.

Mobridge makes a preamp for L7

Mobridge makes a preamp for L7 which has nothing to do with upgrading
a Hi Fi system . Unless you want to program the Head Unit to L7 buy a Da2 and a bunch of amps. Technic designs and sells the harnesses.
Mobridge also makes and aftermarket usb, bluetooth phone and a2dp adaptor.
So I don't know what the guy was thinking that threw that in?

I would get the jehnert flatline 3 way setup and a cheap pair of coaxials for the rear, power it with the pdx. Use the type s, and setup the underseat subs as midbass drivers.

If I were you I would actually just use the head unit and not bother trying to use the stock one. It's alot less work and you wont lose anything important. If you run your own speaker wires you can bypass the bmw audio system all together.

If you decide to use the stock head unit you need to find out if the pdx accepts balanced signals.
