e91 panoramic roof rattle

Recently, when driving over crappy roads, I've notice that the two interior panels of my panoramic roof are hitting each other and cause this "rattle." Does anyone else have this problem and is this something I can bring in to get corrected?

you have two interior panels?...I have two exterior panes of glass...but one big interior panel....

since it has gotten warmer out, I have had to clean the rubber seals as they were rubbing a bit, but a little cleaning did the trick......

Yeah, there are two interior panels. The flap when I go over bigger bumps and make a rattling sound. I can't be the only one right?!

you mean the flap that pops up when you open the roof? that is spring loaded and should stay up when the roof opens a certain amount....

We've had similar problem. Seems like moving the interior panel usually gets rid of the rattle. Back a little, forward a little, until we find the sweet spot. Seems like the spot moves.

Mine sometimes rattles a bit (on and off) in heavy wind at high speed when it is open (retracted) to the "3/4" normal cruising position. I accidentally tipped 150kmh (93mph) the other day and it freaked me out as it had a very sudden vibrating fit until I quickly slowed down again. When it is closed, it is just noisy from the wind (still need to fix that with seal-plumping-goober or a new seal). No rattles when closed or tilted up. MONSTROUS wind buffeting in the cabin though when 100% fully retracted - sadly, impossible to use on the highway (maybe with the windows open to equalize the pressure? But then it'd be far too windy altogether.)

Agree with the buffeting on the panoramic roof. Worst I've ever experienced. Very disappointing.

Wind noise when closed is also a problem on mine. My car is going in for service this morning and I'm going to ask them to look at it.

Wow, they must have fixed all the wind noise problems with the panoramic roof, I hear a little wind noise on my 2012 but sounds like it's coming from the right rear door and only at high speeds!

Agreed with the buffeting. It's terrible, even at 35 mph. Because of that, I have to crack open my window on the driver's side. Otherwise I don't get any terrible wind noise.

The rattle I'm referring to only happens when the interior panel is closed 100%. When it's opened up to the first automatic stop, it's fine. When it rattles and I put a little pressure (upwards with my hand) on the front or rear panel, the noise stops over rough roads. When I remove my hand, it comes back. Do you think the dealership can fix this?? If anything, I'm worried they won't be able to replicate the problem and write it off as a non-issue.

I think I found out what the problem is. There is a rubber accordion looking piece of material attached to the glass roof for the tilt feature that I think became disconnected and rattled up and down every time I went over a bump. I put it back in without connecting the two issues and seems to have resolved it.
