Review of parts from Havok's (Nick's) groupbuy (pics included)

I wanted to write a review about the items I bought from Nick's annual groupbuy event. I didn't place any orders because I had no idea when I was going to be in Toronto (I'm from out of town), but I ended up buying two items from the leftover inventory. Nick is fantastic to deal with.

I impulse bought the front M3 rep bumper because my gf was in Toronto on the weekend of March 4. I paypaled Nick the money and my gf picked up the part from streetextreme the next day. Two guys from the shop loaded the bumper into a cramped Suzuki Swift very carefully. .

The bumper was installed by my friend who is very mechanically skilled. He didn't need any DIY guides or diagrams. Installation took about 2.5 hours doing it at a relaxed pace. I'm very happy with the bumper. The quality is excellent and the fitment is almost perfect. It takes some finessing to align it properly and in the end everything lined up great. Overall I'd give this bumper a 9/10.

On the weekend of March 20th, I was in Toronto and met Nick at streetextreme. I decided to impluse buy a CF CSL style trunk. The CF is absolutely beautiful. The trunk cutouts (such as latch, keyhole, etc) were pre-cut. The pre-cut sections looked rough and I thought that I would have to do a lot of dremel and filing work... However, the only adjustments I needed was to file the license plate housing because everything else fitted fine without any modification. It took about 3 hours to install (without any DIYs guides or diagrams) by the same friend who installed my front bumper. It takes A LOT of finessing to get everything to fit properly without dremel/filing work.

I'd give this trunk a solid 9.5/10 only because the right taillights do not sit as well as the left tailights near the top edge. It is barely noticeable, unless you are purposely looking for flaws. For the price that I got the trunk for, I am extremely happy.

Now onto the pics! They are unedited and I am clueless about photography.

Looks awesome!

Only thing is with aggressive time attack rims like that, you need a more aggressive stance

Awesome that the trunk worked out without doing much work to it. I was really happy with the trunks this time around. I also have the same problem with my trunk, the right taillights does not fit/line up as well as the left side. I guess its a consistent flaw.

Thanks! The drop is coming soon... Then I'll roll the fenders and get spacers.

Yes feel free to use those pics. When are we going to see pics of your M3?

I'm not surprised that the trunk doesn't have 100% perfect fit/finish. Even the really expensive Vorsteiner trunks have the same issues. My trunk was like 98% perfect. I initially thought it was going to be a DIY nightmare... It was so worth it in the end. Its about 1/3 the weight of the OEM trunk... Almost too light for the OEM trunk lid spring/bar.
