Hi, how to figure out the endlink is failing? i have H&R coilover on my car for 10k miles and i felt more harsh over bump now. do i have to replace the rear endlinks too and where to get it? i am planning to get m3 sway bar setups too.thanks

Okay so I'm a little slow on the up take here, what would be the "dream" list of parts to go with if I were to upgrade my stock 2008 e90 335xi sport package setup with the ultimate Frankenstein setup???

Would it be this M3 conversion kit:
http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

plus something like KW V3's for an XI or at this point would I be looking for something that would be an awesome M3 coilover because I've got all the M3 conversion going onto my XI?

I'm confused... also when I spoke with Dinan... they said to avoid the urethane bushings because they tend to hold up poorly in the east coast??? Need lots of advice cuz I'm serious about dropping a coin on the suspension upgrade to make it a be all end all of daily driving on uneven east coast roads.

Fazman - dude I am in too! Tired of the roads here! I spoke to Dinan about a Stage 3 kit - 1350 parts and 1750 labor!

Keep us posted will ya please?

Sounds a little pricy on the install IMHO, I can't imagine it costing more then $100 a corner on install.

Thanks for the thread posts. I pulled the trigger tonight and got the rear M3 sway, sub-frame bushings, and front upper and lower control arms. The only part I did not get was the M3 strut tower brace. I am currently running eibach springs and bilstein shocks. I thank all those who contributed info, and part numbers. I hope it makes a difference... I'll post updates when the project is completed.

What do you mean by front upper and lower control arms here? Do those even fit an Xi?

Turners car model part check on its webpage says yes. I think the xi's front is the same as the i. I believe it is the rears that are different. I could be wrong.
I will know as soon as we try the install.

Xi front is completely different, rear is what is the same as i, or at least that is my understanding. There are extra 2 axles and a diff up there after all. Good to know one way or another, though keep us posted.

edit: I looked at that website and I don't see any Xi compatibility listed. e9x means e90, e91, e92 etc. it does not mean Xi, BTW.

edit 2: Look at the sticky at the top of this (Xi) forum section, very first post.

If you go to the bottom of the page and put your make and model in it says it is compatible.

OK here is realoem for 335xi front susp, and 335i, resp. I do not think these are even close (compare parts xi 8 vs i 9 and xi 15 vs i 14). But then of course I could be wrong.

I got a call from turner today and they said the uppers will fit and work but the lowers will not. From your pic I am not sure. We will see soon. The uppers are on back order so they should be in next week. As soon as I install them I will update you guys. Thanks for the help.

I checked with them and they are genuine M3 rear subframe bushings.

I think there is some confusion about what front and rear mean. There are both front and rear links for the rear suspension, and upper and lower links.

My understanding is nothing on the M3 front suspension (which has only two lower links) fits the Xi. However quite a few bits of the M3 rear suspension fit both Xi and i, but not the big lower control arm (that the shock bolts into).

So #13, 17, 18 top diagram below, not 4 and (maybe) not 10.

M3 rear:

Sorry about the delay. I finally got around to the install last weekend and you are 100% correct. The rear M bushings and M sway-bar fit perfect. The front parts were not even close. Thankfully my friend has a 1 series who already did his rear and having the extra parts gave him the incentive to do his front. The front upgrade on his car was not nearly as noticeable as the rear M parts. Thanks allot for your help. I only wish the M steering rack was a direct swap. This upgrade really was well worth the $$$. Huge improvement in road feel and suspension response over bumps and turns. It now feels like the springs and shocks are doing the work and not the whole car if that makes sense.
