Installed some performance mods...

Thinking I added about 20~30 HP per the butt dyno

Added Euro sunglass holder:

Added rubber BMW floor mats since my car didn't have any when I bought it used.

Replaced my CIC controller since it was scratched up:

Installed BMW Performance grilles
Comparison of stock chrome vs gloss black BMW Performance:

Installed tow hook license plate, temporarily put my school plate on till my permanent plates arrive.

C'mon man.... No car wash? I'm convinced a car wash adds 15 at least. It's the smoothness of the airflow over the freshly waxed car that does it.

On a non-sarcastic note, I like that sunglasses holder. Where did you get that?

Sometimes the little mods are the most fulfilling. Love the sunglasses holder.

Yeah, i've always had some sort of sunglass holder built into my cars...so it was nice to be able to add an OEM solution.

And yes, car needs to be washed. I've only had it a week and I got it washed after a big roadtrip and then it rained in the middle of the week and collected some dirt/road grime.

So you're not getting the sarcasm about calling any of those mods " performance mods" ? They're cosmetic for sure, but none of them increase performance. Just sayin....

No, I get the sarcasm...I started the sarcastic thread...But I agree, the car is dirty...and that a clean car with a lower drag coefficient HAS to be faster right?

And I took the BMW Performance Grilles to my company's wind tunnel and compared them to stock chrome grilles and the flight engineers are pretty sure i'm getting better air flow now.

lol what?

OP was obviously being sarcastic. The first sentence with the butt dyno should have given it away.

(yes, I know this is sarcasm, but there's a basis in reality).

Not necessarily. Well, I mean, yes, for sure a lower Cd will make the car faster. But the assumption that a dirty car *increases* the Cd is fundamentally flawed. Smooth surfaces are typically worse in terms of aerodynamics. Rougher would really be much more ideal to eliminate base drag off the passenger cabin (the trunk would be harder because of the sharp edges, but on something like a TT, Beetle, or Lexus convertible with sloping trunks, it'd help there too). The same phenomenon is why golf balls are dimpled.

http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/my...r-minimyth.htm

EDIT: Of course, I didn't mean to suggest that dirtiness on a car will make any measurable difference. You'd have to get MUCH more aggressive with surface roughening before you noticed anything.
