Paul that idrive number is just a countdown timer. Its pretty meaningless as it might last 200k. Mine only did 60k with it clogging frequently. I decided to gut mine but Im not keen on the way it sounds. More like canal barge than sports car. When you sell it they are going to know something is up.
What these cars need is no dpf, no egr and every time I look in the manifold its wringing with oil from the crankcase. They really need a catch tank.

I had my DPF removed and remapped by more BHP.

I had the remap done first and a month or do later my DPF failed so went back to have it taken out.

agreed! dpf and egr deleted on mine with an ecotune maxitune re-map and it runs lovely.

Were you pleased with the service / result? I have seen varied comments regarding More BHP. My car has done nearly 140k miles and is showing 14k remaining life of the DPF so I need to start planning. Unless of course that 14k could turn out to be 60k!

Yes they did use the ecotune pipe, 500 was to clean the DPF not gut it. That was my original intention but alas the DPF split in the mean time so choice was replace or remove.

any update on this, as i have just signed up looking to do the same thing to my engine and have also narrowed it down to bw chiptune as they seem to have done a few and seem respected on the forums.

The other option was evolve which i would like to go for a map however as far as i know they don't seem to do the dpf removal. So as the ecu software needs to be adjusted when the dpf is removed i assume i have to get it done at the same place at the same time otherwise i would consider having the dpf remove and then driving to evolve instead.

I had my DPF removed one day, drove around a few days before my tuner had the time to map it. I didn't floor it in the days before mapping and had no problems, no enginewarning or anything.
The best thing is to have it done at the same time, but it is possible to have the DPF removed and then remap after a few days.

My dpf and egr has been removed and re-mapped it passed the MOT with 0.86 emissions, but it may depend on the tester, it seems to be a bit of a grey area where the dpf is concerned (if its not fitted they cant test it) imo even if the dpf is removed and there are no lights on the dash I cant see why they could fail it on that particular issue.

I have just today removed my dpf cut it open and removed the internals! I have also removed the swirl flaps and ordered a pipercross panel filter.

I have a local diesel specialist who is going to remap and remove the dpf function, he said it will be somewhere in and around 300bhp when done, and a significant jump in torque. Can't wait to get the software don't and try it

As far as I know all the diesels have it so that one will have it too.

Pretty sure it's the 6-pot diesels that have DPFs.

Anyway, finally, after much head scratching and more phone calls, I'm booked in for tomorrow

I'm going to P-Torque in Wolverhampton.

They used to be forum sponsors and I've never seen anything but excellent reviews of their work. Plus they are only 15 minutes from me so much more convenient. I might well be going back to him for an exhaust sometime soon too

re. the DPF removal and MOT issue. My DPF warning light was on when MOT was being done back in March and it didn't fail the emissions test. Therefore I think it is of no consequence on the MOT result, whether a DPF warning light is on or not ?

Also my DPF warning light was on for about 3 months, however, since last week it has stopped appearing after 10min. This could be to do with the fact I have driven the car about 2k miles on motorways in the last month or so. TBH even when the warning light was appearing, the car seemed to drive fine and thankfully still does...so maybe you just have to be patient with it! Unless or course I am talking rubbish and a sensor in my car is broken!

My car only just failed the back pressure test at mid to high revs so it could be that the filter was not significantly blocked.

The MOT regs have changed in the last couple of months. A lot of warning lights will now mean a fail - I'm not sure which ones though.

I'm home in a 1.0 Clio for today and tomorrow while P-Torque rip the innards out of my car Will is a really nice guy, obviously knows his stuff and they have some seriously nice machinery going through their workshop!

Roll on tomorrow!

Got it back

HOLY SHIT! It's unbelievable! I thought it was quick with the box on but this is something else completely. 285bhp on the dyno with the usual expectation of a few more as the engine runs in.

Nothing but praise for Will and Performance Torque, and when I get my exhaust done soon I'll be going back to see him.

Nice! Do you have a before and after dyno plot? What's the noise like aswell as soot?

I'd hope for a little more but perhaps there map is a little milder vs others (290hp with a Evolve map) or it could just be dyno reading high!

Funny you should ask...

Will reckoned 290bhp with the map so maybe those few extra horses over the next week or so will just get it there. Spot on dyno though - 230bhp standard.

Noise is very, very subtle. If I hadn't driven the car every day for the last couple of years it's possible I wouldn't notice at all.

edit: Hmmm, not the best photo - I'll try again.
