wheel bearing install direction?

I am in the process of installing new rear bearings in my 06 325i and have an issue. in the Bently manual it states to install the bearing with the black seal toward the center of the car. The bearings I have DO NOT have a black seal, but two red seals one on each side.

How do I determine what direction the bearings should be installed? Scared Ill mess up the tone ring direction.

One end should be magnetic for the ring and the other not.
So test that and see which end is magnetic and install that toward the inside...

I ultimately installed both bearing with the manufacturer and part number facing outward. I had a 50/50 shot. Have not gotten any dash lights or the like. I did try and see which side was magnetic and couldn't determine using a piece of scrap metal.

Same car, Same question, except both sides of my bearing are black and have a National logo.
Neither side is obviously magnetic.
Thanks,
Bill
