Did 3 20 min sessions. Car was running fine. At the 4th session after lunch break, I got a engine malfunction code and turbos got shut off. Didn't have my laptop with me to check code. Oil temps were fine at 270 deg F. Thanks to my two oil coolers and meth.

Once this happened to me while WOT on street. Code was something about Vanos. So I'm assuming Vanos solenoid needs replacement??

I was only running 14psi on track.

I also notice my wastegate rattle is horrendous lately while building boost. And my turbos shut off occasionally for like 2 min while driving.

Engine malfunction code could also be HPFP as well.

If you can, check what codes the car's reporting.

I recall reading that 270 oil temp is first stage where DME starts to limit output. Maybe someone knows if done via limiting boost or timing or both.

270 is starting to close in on cranky engine limp mode, but without codes it's a shot in the dark.

Flash tunes are best for the track. With cobb aggressive or race maps, the power hasn't been cut for me once limp mode sets in, so I can continue racing, once I've checked the code, once, and they same code typically re-occurs. Meth is also a big no no on the track, as we've already lost an engine on here due to using meth at the race course. Check your code to see whats going on with your car, and report back. It's all speculation till we know what code you pulled.

270F is limp mode.

Under 250 would be a fair oil temp. Do you have a thermostat bypass? It seems like you could take advantage of one. I'm surprised your oil temps are that high with 2 oil coolers. I would expect you to be under 230F like most other people.

So flash tunes are not impacted at 270? I thought most (all) of the protective features were retained by Cobb at least from what I've read on here.

I doubt...

how much boost are you running?

btw is it a drag strip or closed loop?

if it's closed loop then reduce the boost! you can't expect the car to run fine lap after lap after lap when you are running more than twice the stock boost

Sorry Jeff but this isn't correct. Limp mode due to oil temps occurs at 300 Degrees. At 270F, Juice box 4 shuts off power.

Cobb has no oil or water temperature based restrictions.

If you really need to ask that question I don't think that you should be trying to help anyone but yourself...
With supporting mods YES you can expect your car to run double the boost as the car ran stock.
He also said he was at a fixed 14psi throughout his track sessions..read the thread

I agree that flash tunes are superior to piggy backs for the track but meth is a big no no on the track? say what?
The engine that was lost on this forum was due to a faulty FSB or meth controller... Too much meth was injected and the engine was hydrolocked. That could have happened on or off the track. There are plenty of people running meth on the track on this platform and countless on others.... so meth on the track is not a " no no". Yes, it may be smarter to run a trunk mount set up rather than a windshield washer resovoir set up because meth can splash from the resovoir onto the downpipes and cause a fire, but meth is not a no no on the track

relax dude, I missed that... and I don't need a lesson from you on cars or anything related to them.

but anyway, 2 oil coolers or not. these cars overheat on stock boost, you are going to not only need supporting mods, but a decent tune to run around the track and not overheat eventually. a hack of a tune doesn't cut it.

Let me clarify. When used as a source of octane, on a circuit, it's not advisable. i.e running a race map, with low octane gasoline, and meth, sprayed in to bring up the final octane. Obviously, if anything happens to the meth kit in such a high stress environment, the engine is toast. running a race map with the appropriate amount of fuel octane, and spraying in meth, only for cooling, can be done.

meth was obviously being used for cooling and not for higher octane, 14psi on even piss gas 91 octane is easily possible
