E92 BMW Performance Suspension - Sway bar bushings

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm just finishing up the BMW Performance Suspension install and I'm a bit confused about the front sway bar bushings.

The new front bar came with some narrower (glued on?) bushings, however the kit also included a set of new front sway bar bushings in addition. I've attached a couple of pictures to help illustrate.

Do you know if I'm supposed to peel off the existing bushings or just use the narrower bushings that are already attached to the bar?

Seems like a packaging error. I would use the bushings that fit the new brackets the best.

You have a bar with 4 bushings?

Unless 2 part elastomer, you'll have a devil of a time getting the installed bushing off....

What would Obama do? Call the folks you bought it from; inquire.

Most likely the bushings are not glued just stuck very very well to the sway-bar. Spray them with penetrating oil and hope for the best. if anything cut them off and replace with the correct bushings. Lube the new ones up with proper grease so they done squeak over time.

Hey man, I ended up removing the ones that came glued onto the bars and swapped them with my stock ones that fit the brackets properly. Worked great!

Yea. Found the matching brackets, but at $26/pc. Kinda hard to not cut them off. Any tips for removal?

They are a PITA to remove actually. I cut the majority off with a dremel, then used a torch to burn off the remnants. It goes without saying, but use caution if you use the torch approach.

Thanks!!I figured so when my initial attempt was with a good sized pry bar was futile at best. May just have to pony up the cash for the brackets.

Hate to bump such an old thread but what brackets did you find that would fit? I had the PS installed over the weekend and we couldn't figure out what to do with the sway bushings as well. I see no instruction on what to do in the BMW instructions document either. Those suckers are stuck on there for good I think.

sway bar bushings

There are brackets that fit, however at $30+ a piece I opted to cut the bushings off and use my old brackets with new bushings. I used some vice grips and channel locks. They seem really rigid, but aren't that hard to get off. I gripped and pulled the bushing with channel locks and used a straight razor held by the vice grips to cut it off. A heat gun will help soften it up a bit too. lmk if u need anymore help.

Yeah I'll probably just try to pry it off as well then. I'm sure I can find some tools at work to do it. Did you use the other bigger bushings that came with the kit? They're about 1/2" wider. http://imgur.com/47T3OJq

Sure did. They fit the stock bracket on 328 and 335. Once you rip off the bushing, just take a razor blade and scrape the rest off. If I remember correctly, I think I forced a flathead screwdriver between the sway bar and the bushing to aid the separation.
