Haha this!

They have a big warning in my file to not touch my car since I complained to the Service Manager.

Want your car's paint jacked up? Let the dealer do it. Listen to the wisdom already commented by those here. Want to do a technical check? Ask your dealer what are the total dissolved solids (TDS) in the water they are using on your ride...when they look at you with that blank stare...you have your answer. If they tell you that does not matter...you have your answer. If they give you a number over 20 and they knowingly do this...you have your answer. Find a detailer who will wash your car with de-ionized water or even better yet, distilled, which has 0 TDS - and knows why he/she does this. Ask them what are the brand names of the soaps, wax, polishing compounds they use and look at the brand new cars on their lot that they did detail...100% guarantee you will see "spider web" scratched all over the place. The water you use and the way you wash and polish your car requires a skilled artisan.

Echoing many on this post - find a skilled detailer who is meticulous or learn how to do it yourself.

I have placard from my detailer in my car on the dash and rear when I take it in that says not to even spray the car off in English and Spanish.
