i think I am going preemptively check and replace the tensioner and ps pully and a new belt. Once I remove the PS pulley I will check for damage from possible contact with subframe.

I changed mine about 6 months ago - do not buy the tensioner from Rock Auto, even though it says it fits, it doesn't. End up going OE. The parts guys also said the OE belt is much quieter than the Goodyear Gator belt I purchased.
This is an easy job for DIY'er

My good friend is a bmw tech and he mentioned to me about the belt failures. He had me check where my serpentine belt waa riding on the tensioner pulley. If the belt is riding on the front of the pulley it is time to replace it. An Oem belt, tensioner, and new aluminum bolt cost me $160 cost through my local dealer and I did the job in under 20 minutes.
