320D not getting up to temp, thermostat?

Okay, thought I best check the temperature gauge to see if it was getting up to temperature correctly. Took it for a little drive and didnt top about 75, so let it warm up to 90 sat still, then went for another drive. At motorway speeds in 6th it dropped to 65, so I'm guessing its a thermostat stuck open?

I've only just bought it and the garage said they'll sort it, but they're a 140 mile trip from me and I have to do it twice, hopefully dropping it off tomorrow and picking up Thursday, I have to pick it up Thursday due to work, so if I could give them anything extra to go on to speed the job up that would be great. Am I right in thinking there's two thermostats? I don't think it's a sensor as it wasn't jumping around or anything like that. Is there anything else it could be?

Oh during the tests ambient was 22c and I didn't have the heaters on so I don't think it was in tough conditions for it to get to temp.

Garage List
There are 2 stats: egr and main. Either could be the cause. Temperature when fully warmed up should be 88 - 94. The stat opening temperature is 88.

Okay, well it's not maintaining anywhere near that temp so guess at least one of them is stuck open.

if you are DIY handy you can try replacing the EGR stat yourself - takes about 20 mins to do and if that sorts it then no trip needed - however they do say if the egr stat has gone the main stat wont be to far behind

I was thinking about it, I plan to clean the EGR at some point, but I thought as long as it's in warranty may as well get it done.

Pretty DIY handy, this will be the first car I haven't serviced myself, and I've done all the work to my Fiesta track car, but compared to the E91, that was lego.
