335 Turbo Misfire

My 09 335i xDrive start to misfire at cold start, it went away after the engine warm up but warning light on. Booked an appointment with dealership but no free slot until end of month. My question is, is it still safe to drive my car until end of the month?

Ask the dealer? I tried to but yesterday SA not available I sent an email to him to get an earlier appointment waiting for reply. I will try to call BMW tomorrow most likely they will tell me to talk to dealership. So far the light is on today will see if it is on tomorrow.

i had misfire issues, it was caused by spark plugs and coils... the first time i told them about they ran diagnostic on it, and gave it back to me and told me to repeat the problem and bring it back to them, and i did, and i ended up misfiring not too far by the dealer so what i did was i brought it to the dealer and they checked it and they changed the faulty spark plugs and coils! how do you know its your turbos? and they say not to drive the car around AT all with misfires! thats what the shop foreman told me! he said its ok to drive .... the car to the shop or a shop? but not driving it around for long periods and long distances.

When the engine light came on and I felt the car engin shook, I took it to my shop very close to my house and he run a diagnostic and found 4,5,6 CYL misfire and he advised me to take to dealer and he think may be coil issue. Funny thing all light were gone today?

i had the same issue last month
i changed the spark plugs ( doesnt work)
i changed coils (doesnt work)
end up i took the car back to the dealership for diagnostic, found out is the injectors problem (cyl 1,3,5,6)
then i ordered injectors from US cause much cheaper than here.
installed the injectors last week and coding, problem fixed, car runs very smooth now.

Please also PM me as to where you purchased them and where you got them coded + installed. I'll be keeping this info for emergency purposes. Hope it doesn't happen to me!

Just wanted to thank Tzu for his help. I was having cyl 4,5,6 misfire issues and bought replacement injectors from Maranello. Tzu ran some diagnostics before doing the install and coding. He explained everything as he was going through the steps. Very thorough, and I'd highly recommend him if you're looking for someone for install or coding work. Car runs great now.

Hi Guys,

I'd like to dig out this post because I am having the same issue, but I am not entirely sure I understood the fix.
Here's my story. I have a 335i that know reached 50k km. A few months ago, I started having some misfire issues. It started with cylinder 4 and was only at cold start. Sometimes it went away when heating up sometimes I had to restart the car.
It very quickly went to cylinders 5 and 6 so I ordered a st of coils and replaced all 6 of them. It seemed to fix the issue.
But now it's back and on the same cylinders 4,5,6 I have also installed JB4 since then but I have done barely a few hundred kilometers with it.
So my question is, since it is a group of 3 cylinders that keep misfiring, should I go for a specific solution? I am not sure if I should understand from the fix here that when a set o cylinders is impacted it means you need to fix the injectors.
Thanks for your helps

Yeah, I'd inspect/replace your plugs first before replacing injectors. Much more cost effective. Plus the condition of the plugs can help indicate what's been going wrong.

Or go get a shop/dealer to run diagnostics to help pinpoint the issue instead of throwing piles of parts at your car.

I had misfiring... Usually coil pack and spark plugs. No big deal man just get a trust worthy mechanic to fix it. Call Rocco at rmp motors, he's better than the BMW dealership lol
