Grinding Noise Turning Left

Car is an 07 335XI E90 with 66k miles.

Noticed the noise today in a parking structure at school. While coming down from the top floor of the 7 story structure, when I turn left, there is a grinding noise and feeling in the car that appears to be coming from the front right of the car. When turning at a slow speed, nothing, and when turning on a curve in the road nothing. This only appears to happen when making a tight left turn at about 15+ MPH

Car just got back from dealer with service done:
2 new turbos
Decarb cleaning (walnut blast)

Pulled over and briefly inspected area, car is dirty, and runs on VMR 710, 18x8.5

Did not notice any abnormalities... Could this be my X-drive transfer case going out?

Thanx for all the help!

Is that part of my wheel bearing?

Could this be a result of the dealership not putting my car back together correctly?

check the brakes first. Brakes tend to grind, ....clicking or tapping is usually the drive shaft on full lock turns, moaning is a wheel bearing, squeaking is a suspension noise while a chirping sound usually indicates you have a chipmunk still hiding out from the walnut blast...(they stole his walnuts)

Lol 2 funny posts. But I dont think its brakes. I feel the grind in the steering column and elsewhere... Just annoying taking off all my mods and putting them on over and over again haha

Is the tire scraping the inner fender lining when you turn? I had the happen literally the same way. I noticed when a friend parked the car and saw that when he turned the wheel left just right, it would rub the lining. Have someone turn the wheel slowly to the left while you are outside watching while the car is parked.

No, this happens while driving only. I believe the noise comes from the pressure on the outside tired during turning, causing the wheel bearing to grind

Bearing

ALWAYS start with the least complicated assumption .

Bearing would be my guess when turning left ( tight ) that would be the right front bearing. Then again there is not too much to go on here.
But that would be my logical thought.

CV joints typically click not grind. How many miles are on the car? Grinding sounds more like brake contact of some sort.
Please report what they discover. If the back spacing is off on your wheels rubbing the fender liner is certainly possible...

So i just got the car back from the dealership 2 days ago, and when i make a hard left, and apply the accelerator (light-hard) I still get the grinding noise... My rims are VMR 710 18" so Im gonna search for a rubbing issue. But the dealership DID replace my front right bearing, but still going on...

Also tried for a new HPFP but the code didnt show up after i cleared codes and took off the tune... BTW they didnt care that I still had the USB cord coming out of the glove box

Took the car into dealership and get front right wheel bearing replaced but still makes noise... Trying to make my HPFP code come back before I take it back in again, but WILL keep you guys updated. I wonder if its a control arm or something, because its obviously not the wheel bearing. And no noticeable wheel well grinding

Yeah because I have the same problem but when I take my rims off (17inch)
And put the stock wheels back on the sound went away so I'm guessing its the rim or tire it feels like something is grinding together when I turn or go straight it makes this sound I put a spacer on it still makes sound I put it on lift and rotated the wheel and u don't hear a sound tech said it isn't the wheel bearing he said its the tire .never new a tire can make a grinding sound it almost sounds like it's metal on metal I put it on the lift two times whole front end is tight there's no play so I'm lost

When you lockout the wheels in a turn, you will get some indication that you are at lockout, or can't turn the wheel any further. Sometimes, it is a grinding noise/feeling from the wheels and at the steering wheel.

If you have large wheels/tires, then you might be rubbing, especially when your offset is really low.

My rims are VMR 710's 18" X 8.5
Tires: Continental Extreme Contact DWS (non run flat) 235/40/R18

I dont think my tires are hitting my wheel well, because the noise happens WELL BEFORE my maximum turning radius is achieved. AND only happens when applying throttle. If I am rolling and whip the wheel left, no noise. ONLY when throttle is applied

My car does the exact same thing after my turbo replacement!!!
I had my turbos replaces in December 2012 and after that I get the grinding popping noise coming from the passenger side when turning left! I get the noise under light throttle LEFT ONLY turns. I have been to 3 different Indy shops, re adjusted my downpipes I have even replaced my control/thrust arms and bushings with the M3 ones and the issue still exists!!!

It's driving me crazy!
