A good price to me also includes: "Does the guy have a clue what he's doing and has he done the procedure many times before?"

If you answer no to either one, then $5 isn't even a "good deal" IMO.

yea.. that's the chance that i would be taking but as long as you have the right tool, changing out swap shouldn't be all that hard.

Check out his references, if available. Ask him how long the swap will take him. Should be about 2.5~3 hours.

Also, keep in mind, if anything happens on your property, you may be liable for any injuries...

Case in point, a Comcast installer came over to my buddy's house, slipped and fell. Subsequently sued him, his insurance company, and Comcast for the sustained injuries and days out of work. It turned into a giant PITA for my friend.

Just my 2 cents worth... Good luck!

Pay a good known shop to install it don't cheap out on something so critical to safety. Also if he installs it wrong could damage shocks prematurely. Remember you got a bmw not a 95 civic.

Great price. Only problem is if something goes wrong you have no one to blame. Well you can blame him, but he's not going to cover anything.

I get the feeling that the OP felt that $150 bucks was still to much perform the work which is why he talked him down to that price. I also have a feeling he wont be willing to pay anything more than $150. But you gotta pay to play. "Cheap thing no good and good thing no cheap"- Confucious

$200 is cheap for a shop. A lot of those so-called mobile mechanics are scams. They come over and if you are lucky, they leave you with more car problems than you started. If you are not so lucky, he may bring his homeboys and it will be much worse than car problems if you know what I mean...
