Oil paint on plastic

I bought a new car model which is plastic along with some oil paint. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on preparing the plastic (which is already smooth) so when painting it with a brush I would prefer to minimize any brush strokes etc and keep the paint looking smooth as possible?

Thanks

Can only speak from painting a soil stack with oil based paint. It goes on with paint strokes but they fill themselves in and drys pretty glossy. Not perfect but not full of paint strokes
