Normal?

old pads on top - new Textar on the bottom

That's intentional on the manufacturer's part; my last set of track pads (PFC08) also lacked front retaining clips but had them on the rears.

Those pads will work fine but may rattle ...my car sounded like a bucket of bolts going over bumps. I didn't like it. My advice is to send them back and get different pads.

FWIW, my new OEM pads came without the clips too... haven't noticed any rattling.

there's no potential for the pads to float around in the caliper without the clips?

were the pads you had (without the clips) Textars too?

Email them and ask about it first, they might have an explanation.

They're OEM BMW and say "BMW Saxid" imprinted on the pads.. Old ones say "BMW TEXTAR".

They way they're positioned I don't really see how they would rattle... idk... I'll tell you one thing those clips do they make it harder to remove the pads!
