Correct coolent temp for e90 330d

Hi guys, been thinking I've been getting low mpg highest is 32.3 on motorway so went into the hidden menu for the coolent temp, at standstill it was 71-74 then at motorway it was changing between 79-84. Is this low or is this normal? Thanks for any help.

It's low, mine sits at 91-92c now since I changed main and egr thermostat. If you are mechanically minded change both thermostats that should fix your low coolant temp.

I think there is on here somewhere, worst one is main stat. The egr is looking at you. I'm sure you will be fine if you like using a spanner

It's an easy job. It would have been easier for me if I took my rad fan out; It's one torx screw, unclip the harness and unclip a plastic tab and it pulls right out! That'll give you so much more room.

Garage List
92 to 94 is normal. As above - change both stats to be certain. You do need to remove the fan and I couldn't do this without removing the large egr pipe.

I left the fan in and the egr cooler to do my main stat. One reason I was in a rush and the fan seamed quite solid and did not move much with the screw out!

Also didn't take egr cooler off either, because a bolt was seized into the manifold. I managed but did drop a bolt onto the tray so had to remove all that lot

Thermostat is a classic on 330d M57N2.
Temp must be 88-92C, and climb on less than 10 min.
