opinion needed, buying an 08 328i with 100k miles

im looking to buy a 2008 328i coupe with 100k miles. auto. clean title, sport.

just want a daily driver. the seller is asking 13K.

whats your thoughts ? or should i buy a 2009 328i with say 50K miles and pay around 19K?

my only concern is the oil changes, bushings, water pumps.. etc.. how much will these cost if i drive the car up to 150K miles?

i know these cars do not have any warranty.

thank you for your input.

If you're financially able, go for the 2009. 2009 the E90 received a facelift; you're also talking half the miles (I prefer lower mileage)... have you looked at the maintenance record for each? The 2009 should just have come off the warranty, so you should feel confident that the vehicle is in good working order...

Haggle the 2009 down (see another thread that talks about negotiating)!

That is a pretty good price for a 2008. I have run a couple of BMWs up over 300,000 miles and have 2 now with over 200,000, so I know they are good for high miles. In your case, the question is whether you want to spend more money up front and be less likely to have problems, or whether you'd rather pay as you go with more maintenence. I have two older BMWs (and one newer one), so it is no big deal if one of them is in the garage for a while. Do you have another car to drive in addition to this one? Do you have a good mechanic other than a dealer? Do you do basic maintenance yourself? If you can answer yes to these things, then you should consider the higher mileage car. If you can't answer yes to any of these things, then buy the newer, lower mileage car. There are no guarantees that you won't have problems, but there is still a little warranty left and there is less risk of a problem developing.
