I'll trade you my open ECU and my gas prices for a supercharged M3 and your gas prices

Oh boy, now you got me interested. When I first got my touring, I was amazed at how well it drove. But now that I'm getting used to it, I can really feel the weight in curves.

Can anyone list all the weight saving mods you could do on a E9X?

I'm not very fond of using the M3 bonnet since I would really like to keep the OEM look as much as possible on my car.

I'm all done on mods now....feels weird with no plans for the car anymore.....found myself looking at Adan and OZ HT wheels yesterday to save a bit of Unsprung weight / rotating mass.......alot of cash though but at least it's visual as well

I also looked at arch rolling and flaring......I must be getting desperate now !!!

Can't get anymore power without loosing the EGR and DPF and I don't want to do that

Yeah, me too. No more mods...except at some distant time in the future after warranty when I want to do a flash tune instead of the JBD. Oh yeah, and I really do need to blacken out the mesh grills around the fogs. I've actually started to think the unthinkable. What would be the next car? If it were today (and if it were available in the USA), I think I'd get the VW Golf GTD.

If it were today (and if it were available in the USA), I think I'd get the VW Golf GTD.
The GTD would be a let down. I had a stage 2 Malone 2012 Golf TDI that made comparably more power than a GTD, VW Driver springs, 18" goal wheels. It was tasteful and OEM but as close to a US GTD as you can get and it really bummed me out. The car is lighter than our cars, but not that much lighter, and that little 2.0 TDI had such a weak power band. Even at 190ish hp it was slowwwww (6.5-6.7 0-60). Torque was a bit over 300 and even there, by comparison, the 335d is a super car.

I don't think I'll drive a non-BMW if I can avoid it. I've tried to love VW and even return to them to save a little money and just can't get away from the bimmers... Here's my recent car list if interested. Notice a trend?

2004 VW Jetta GLI /USED
2007 335i e90 /CPO
2007 x3 M sport /CPO
2011 Mini Cooper S /NEW
2008 335i e90 /CPO
2002 330i m sport /used
2012 VW Golf TDI /CPO
2011 335d /CPO

And the cars I bought for my wife (due to mid-cycle ownership of my cars!)
2010 VW Golf 2.5 /NEW
2011 VW Sportwagen TDI /CPO
2014 BMW X1 sdrive28i /NEW

All of this since 1/2010. Think of all those wasted tax dollars :-(

Now that's a scary thought. Nothing can satisfy after the 335d! You're probably right, but at my age it is inevitable that I will have to step down to something less thrilling but still fun. Heck, I even enjoyed driving the Fiat 500 and Renault Megane rentals in Europe last month, so there is hope.

Let's hope the 335d stays in your stable for a long and trouble free time.
