Question about playing a movie DVD on Nav screen?

I have read on here you can play movie DVD on the Nav screen as long as the car is in park or get it coded to play while driving. I tried to play a DVD movie and it said not supported. My question is does this not work on an '06 330i or am I not doing something?

I don't think the early e90 cars can play DVDs.

If I'm not mistaken the Nav CD is a DVD, I would think if can play that it would play DVD's. anyone have any ideas?

Only 2009+ models can play DVD video.

The CCC navigation system in 2006-2008 doesn't have the hardware playback capability.

It requires the CIC based navigation system.
