Try a different ground, and what size cables ?

What size are your power cables.
My car has 04 cables and both the ground and positive go directly to the battery and I don't have any noticeable noise. Its also and xd and wired up with a Technic Harness.

All the cables and harness were provided by Technic. The amp is an JL XD 600/6.

The installation was done exactly like in this link: http://www.the9thyard.com/2012/03/e9...o-upgrade.html where you can also see the cables as well (it's not my installation in the DYI link, but I followed the exact steps.

I will try to connect the ground cable to a different ground point and see if it makes any difference. I will report back once I do it.

"Scratching" noise is caused by loose connection somewhere in the amp (inputs/outputs). Hiss is the noise floor of the amp just amplified over an acceptable level.

Some batch of PDX amps used to produce hiss at minimum gain/no audio. My personal solution for that was to replace that particular PDX amp. Problem solved.

Bad connection at the harness RCA will produce a different kind of noise, "scratching", pops, low volume level or simply no sound at that particular RCA/speaker output.

Bad Radio's have been noted to cause this .

Bad Radio's have been noted to cause this .
There was a case on here where a guy had this before he
added an amp then added and amp and it was worse. He injected
signals at the radio connection the problem did not show and
when he swapped the radio the problem was gone.

Its because you installed the system on your own.
Nobody know if your gains are correct, if your wiring is correct.
Very limited knowledge on audio and DIY projects end like this.

The trick that people where using to isolate

The trick that people where using to isolate the problem was remove
the Input to the amp and inject audio from cd player or some other source.
If the noise is not still there then its further uptream . One guy injected signals
at the Radio Harness and found no noise. When he got a new radio the noise disappeared. This was with no level shifting devices.

Try a different amp as the others have suggested if the noise is still there with and injected signal.
