New MEMBER New Purchase

Hey all, new member here looking for some advice. I recently put a deposit down on an 06 330i 6spd, sport pkg, nav, etc... Just hoping someone here could point out some things I should look for mechaniclly. I was able to obtain a copy of the national service and it has some things that I am a little nervous about but, they are issue dating back to 2010. Major one is "Solenoid valve for camshaft adjusting unit, permanent failure" and "ticking noise when hot engine is idliling" Thanks for any help you guys can share!

Pics? Also we can better help you out if you tell us the mileage. Around 70k-100k is where you'll have to be replacing gaskets and services.

Yeap I agree with post above. We need more details. Mine has been problem free at 109k miles except for some minor ones which warranty took care of year ago. As long as you do services on time and do preventive maintenance you will be ok. 330i Is a low maintenance car and also very reliable based in my experience.

Welcome by the way!!

thats low mileage..and new valve cover gasket its great. What about water pump and thermostat? Once you replace these 2 you will be set for a long fun ride on you 330i.

I tihnk he did say he replaced the water pump but Im not 100% sure. If not, how much should I expect to shell out for those if I were to replace them?

171000 miles on my 330xi. I bought it at 11000 and so far I have done the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, oil filter housing gasket, crankshaft sensor (twice), cleaned vanos solenoids, transfer case fluid (N/A for you), water pump and thermostat. I drive it hard and I pay for it.
