While my car was probably 150 lbs heavier than a C5Z, I was trapping consistent 123 MPH traps at Famoso with 457 rwhp.

Yeah, that block is really what kept me from buying a C6Z. My plan was forced induction from the start, and the LS2 and LS3 can just seem to take as much boost as you can throw at them. 800 rwhp on the stock bottom end is almost common these days.

I think you'd be fine with a small blower pushing ~5 psi or so. I'd probably be more worried about your exhaust valves, though (unless you've already changed them). Those things are dropping like crazy on the LS7s.

All a ls7 needs is fbo and small cam and heads. Bam 600/600 no more needed that's good for mid 10s if you get power to ground

You can't take a whole lot of weight out of one of those cars there's not much there. I think it was probably just on motor and not on Bottle. That car on Bottle should be an easy 135mph car.

Yes, a non spraying modified Vette. If that was a stock Zo6 then I would be asking the same question however it's clearly not.

LOL

you gotta get past judging cars for their names. you know nothing about that C5Z but what i told you. And i know very little about it myself. I know that a 130+ trapping car ran him and the outcome was very similar if you think a anything close to stock vette sounds like and moves like that, then idk what to tell ya lol

read. I have. on 16PSI i trapped 120.8 with a 2.8 60ft because the stock auto tranny doesnt allow brake boosting with a big single turbo which means leaving like a slug at 1500 rpm and wasting a full second plus not accelerating (PBIR which is notorious for low traps.) I dyno'd 526WHP at 16PSI as well

in that video im running 21PSI so figure it out lol. Ill be dynoing next time im home on the higher boost

Just an fyi the vette owner doesn't mention nitrous...so I would put his car at 120-123 on the high end

I have a fully built and ported head on the way this week. Titanium Valves. Dual Springs. Push Rods. ETC ETC + Cam. That was one of my biggest worries too so I figured while I'm in there let me get some power out of it.

I dont think I will be going FI.

High 5XX WHP should be satisfactory for a street car. As it is the car climbs to 180+ a bit too quick.

Lol so a 600whp on the bottle vette is now a 420whp vette with no bottle?

I'll believe that he was on motor only.....that car with a 150 shot would be a monster.

PS - Ranger is not the only one that has pulled 10s 1/4's out of stock C6Z......Jamie Furman is also a driving master, both frequent MIR which is also part of the equation. I used to go to many of the private rentals where these guys would gun for the records.

I saw Jamie one day also break the record in all current vipers (he has/had multiples), literally drove the tires off a car with 50 miles on it but managed to clock off a sub 11 on stock tires with his Z06, Viper vert, Viper ACR........

On the way to run him i asked a guy that knows him what mods he had and if i even had a chance. He told me that the car is a 130 car and is on the bottle. i didnt ask the guy if he was spraying on those runs, just assumed he was. Thats why in my OP i didnt say he was spraying, just mentioned he has nitrous.

No one will say what they really have when they street race. Especially if the guy lost.

exactly, i do not know what he has/had other than he said cammed/bolt ons/tune and he has NOS but maybe wasnt running it? lol

I know that a 130+ trap car barely pulled away from him in another race.

I know that my car will absolutely destroy a stock C5z and i know that i will also walk the shit out of a 400+ HP stock turbo N54

The vid was posted to show a good fun close run between two fast cars thats all lol

on a side note, watch his AFR.. ijs its plausible

Do you guys really feel the need to argue for 5 pages about someone that could have potentially been spraying but was most likely not? Sorry but if the vette were spraying you'd get walked really quick.

word. i was told on the way there that he was spraying. Turns out he says he wasnt.

Doesnt change the fact that his car is fast as shit. DOesnt make either car slower.

Ill have plenty more runs to share with other cars next time im home.

So what do you think that C5 Zo6 would be trapping 140+ on spray? I say not. Like I said before no one knows what that guy is running. I don't trust anyone on the street about what mods they have. It's always a lie.

This single turbo 335i could trap 130+ at his power level so I don't think you should say that a spraying C5 Zo6 could walk it really quick.

Ok guys tell me this guy isn't spraying? Check out the two videos below. The first one is him racing a GT500 with over 637 RWHP and getting beat. Said he had cam, intake, exhaust, tune and weighed only 3230 with him in the car. Then in the second video a month later he runs the same car that now makes 660RWHP and pulls on it on the top end with no problem. Even the guys on LS1 forums were making fun and saying he's got to be spraying. This is why I don't trust any street racers. Lol

A good friend of mine had a C5z IHE with 150 shot; trapped 128. OP's vid definitely seems legit if the Zo6 is a 130 car.
