Walked out of whole foods, and saw a m6, and 335i parked. All three of us were parked leaving a spot between us.The owner of the m6 was loading his trunk, and said to me nice clean car. You really take care of it. I thanked him and complimented his car which was in great shape. Both our cars are black, and he asked me what I use for a wax? I told him after every wash, I use Meguiers wax. It feels good when someone compliments your car. It shows when you take care of something, it pays off. Funny thing is, all three of us parked so far away from the entrance.

Went to Panera a few weeks back and saw this. Five BMW's and an E63 AMG. The second row is a M6 and 5er. . . Of course i had to park next to them. Mines the monaco 335 on far left.

I parked next to a light blue 328i LCI at Chipotle once. I was in my car for about 10 minutes texting the person I was waiting on. The owner of the 328i, a woman in her 40s, comes out of Chipotle and goes to get in her car. Only, she tries to open my locked driver's door, thinking it was her car. Embarrassed, she runs around and gets in her 3 and drives off.

She's definitely not the enthusiast type...

Birds of a feather flock together! Anytime I see another BMW with a space next to it I'll slip right in otherwise I park out in Bumfuk.

I do the same, but for a different reason. It just seems to me most people that drive a nice car, be it a BMW or other will take more care not letting their door swing and hit your car. They understand!

Yes but always a once space buffer minimum! And usually far away from other cars in any case.

Guilty... I guess for me it's the pride of Bimmer ownership after 10 years of lusting after one, and parking next to another Bimmer reinforces that bond, and it's something you can't really say about a Camry or Focus either.

..But also especially what MandMs335Msport said; even when I had my Solara I tried to park far away from people or next to a nicer car if I can/must, especially ever since an old Asian lady just BUTTED her car's door open while I was sitting in the car getting an address, and she walked away as if nothing happened... Umm, I don't know about Asian culture (and ironically I'm part Taiwanese), but when you startle the owner with a loud boom AND a 1 1/4" 1/2" dent + paint transfer onto a pristine, detailed-every-6-months-and-hardly-a-swirl paint job that he's ready to start WWIII over, shouldn't you at least apologize?
