can anyone confirm if the heat shield is the problem....i've had enough of the twirping sound...my indy released ebrake couple notches...still there

I tried adjusting the e-brake, tried de-glazing the pads (including e-brake pads), grinding down the nubs on the dust shield, adding anti-squeak to the dust shield nubs, etc... the noise always came back. I then changed the rear rotors and pads: noise is gone and has been for the past 6 months (knock on wood).
