Probable usual scaremongering for a slow news day-but pays to be prepared and all that and has got to be worth another thread about cold weather tyres!

Just need to put a coat of polish on mine & they're ready to go, I quite like having a change of wheels every six months

Garage List
This year I am going to get them fitted BEFORE it snows!!

I'm watching the forecasts closely, it was chilly this morning on my way to work but not below 7 yet. I don't want to fit them any earlier than I need to, they're really not very nice to drive on.

Kept mine on the 335i all year as not doing many miles, its so much smoother over bumps than with the horrible run flats on it.

I work 2 miles from home, so never bothered with winters, the thought has been crossing my mind though this year, yet keep having in the back of my mind, would it be cheaper and less worry in bad weather buying a clapped out 4 x 4 if it gets that bad just for winter and reselling!!!
More fun too

I'm in the buy another cheapo car for winter camp, solves all the getting around issues and also addresses the problem of other out of control road users hitting your pride and joy. If it is tucked up in the garage all safe and sound then no one can hurt it.

Last time I bought a runaround I sold it in Spring for 50 more than I bought it for, all it cost me was 6 months tax and insurance.

Glad I am not the only one in this camp yet will wait and see what the weather brings first, as how many times have we heard bad winter and down in the South West its not normally to bad. Worse case i use number 1 leg power to get to work
