This thread just amazes me.
How does a thread specifically for 335is owners generate over a quarter of a million views when it is far and away the scarcest E92 around? LOL

If you have a preference, then I'd stick to your guns... I used auto trader and setup email alerts so I would get notified whenever a new car fit my search criteria. As soon as I got the email of my current car I called and put a deposit down and negotiated on the price on the weekend. It's a fun car to drive and there's a bit of a learning curve with any 6spd but the clutch on this car.... |

DCT >* by a mile. It's my personal belief that a manual transmission is a waste of time when the a rare, expensive piece of hardware like the DCT is far better suited to the performance of this car. Then again, some like to row their own gears even if it's a slower, more methodical action.

But on the street it's a different ball game, cruising and communicating with the road. The 6 spd gives you that extra sense of depth as you push the car up a tight onramp... To each it's own both driving styles have their fan clubs... Choose the style that fits your driving needs. |

From my understanding this car was built for track. I have been tracking my car with minimal mods. I was told the true performance comes from dct.
I mean F1 drivers have been using dct, smg however you want to put it for decades now |

There's nothing wrong with DCT for the track - as long as you are manually doing gated shifting. You will have problems with correct downshifts if you let the car decide what gear it thinks it should be in - especially in hard braking zones. This is the problem torque converters always had. Plus, no engine braking and/or feathering the clutch can take some getting used to. Paddle shifters ON the steering wheel are a joke in my opinion. No real DCT should have them there. They should be fixed on the steering column.
Or, just use the manual stick. Although you should be in the gear you want to be in, try this fun exercise sometime: Go into a long turn with your steering wheel upside down and switch gears with the paddles while trying to remember which side +/- is on. Fun, fun... |

Hey guys,
While accelerating on to the highway recently, not very aggressively, I heard a pop and lost all power. The boost stopped spooling and the car would not go over 40 mph. Even if you pushed down on the throttle, the revs would rise but the speed wouldn't. I looked into the engine bay and realized that the pipe that connects the intake tubes to the engine had some how bursted off where it connects to the engine. The tube was made of plastic. I took it into the dealership and they replaced these parts: REPLACE PRESSURE CONVERTER REPLACE LEAKING VACUUM PRESSURE CONVERTER FOR BANK TWO I'm wondering if any of you have ever experienced this problem or know how this pipe would burst. The replacement pipe seems to be made of some really cheap light duty plastic. Any advice or insight on to this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

For the last time as my lease comes to an end and its heartbreaking. I wont be getting into another BMW until maybe after the winter or sometime next year, Im working on other stuff that are also important to me. Just wanted to say the car has been a blast, the exhaust, DCT, the Alpine White/Coral Red and everything else I loved it. As for my fellow IS owners out there wish the best to all of u, take care those cars, keep enjoying them and God Bless.
