Your a noob. It's the SAME damn car minus the speed and the obvious infamous "worst engine of the year" award with the 335i's. Im not bashing on the 335i im merely saying that if hes looking at one with 120k on the clock you can get an e90 with under 100k for under 10k.
Your the "noob" if you think two cars are the same just becuz they have the same body. An engine is one of the the 2 biggest components of a car (with drivetrain being the other) and the 328 is not the same as the 335.

Are 0-60 the same, 0-100 the same, 1/4 the same, lap times the same? Is price even the same? Nope didnt think so.

My budget is 20k, I was simply asking if this was a good deal or not. You guys need to relax.

I have no idea where you live, but there aren't any E90's in the Bay Area with ANY amount of miles, for anything less than 11500; dealer or private seller.

First car is more of a bargain rather than a risk considering that it's been dealer maintained all its life: http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory...VB73547PA85684

You should be alright as long as you don't plan on beating the living sh*t out of the car. If you can manage to lower the price a bit more then you have yourself a steal. I would start by saying it lacks the features you're looking for; Sports Package, Navigation, Logic 7, interior color and so on.

One of the members on here, who doesn't mind living that high-mileage life, has an 04 M3 SMG with close to 160k miles. His car still runs like a champ and never fails to leave my Cobb Stage 1 N55 in the dust every single time.

I'm actually in the process of getting ready to sell my 08 335i coupe with 69,000 miles and platinum warranty (better than CPO warranty and purchased through BMW). The warranty goes through 3/15 or 100k miles. Figured I'd let you know since I'm in SF (where you appear to be looking). I haven't advertised the car yet, but plan on doing it in the next week or so.

More details about the car... sport package, leather, navigation, 6 speed manual transmission, and cold weather package with heated seats. Black on black exterior/interior. The car has recently replaced front brakes and is 90% highway miles back and forth to Fremont from SF daily.

I'd probably entertain an offer at 20k. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Thanks,
Chris

It has 122k miles, and no options from what I can see. I'm planning on going to the dealer today to check it out. What do you guys think?
If your budget is $20k, i would say check the regional for sale section for guys who are already at FBO level and still have a CPO. The people on the forums usually make an effort to take care of their cars a little better than the average joe. Always take the car for a PPI (Private Party Inspection) form a reputable indy mechanic from the forums too. Most of those indys know the techs at dealerships and can get the low down dirt on the cars service history.

I been around these cars for 8 years I know a thing or two. Okay you know BMW the n54 had the worst engine of the year. I don't need to argue with you I have cars older than you.

that's fine and we aren't going to come to an agreement but for me 2 cars that have different engines, prices, performance figures, and etc. are not the same car even if they look similar.

I think you can do better.

Look at the private for sale cars on here, some people can be extremely reasonable, some people will try to bend you over. You should be looking at Edmonds pricing and not KBB. I wouldn't go near 100k, but If I was, I would save the 2-3k dealer difference and just buy it private party since it is a crap shoot either way.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I am on a similar situation. I'm playing on getting a 335i e90 2008 with 62k but has a gold extended warranty until sept of 2015 or 100K and maintenance until sept of this year. It all sounds good and I'm getting it for 17.5K, what attracted me to this particular one was the extended warranty, it's not a cpo, the Second owner bought the warranty and then transferred it to the guy who I'm buying it from now. So I know it's transferrable but can it be transferred once again?
I went to look at another 335i today at BMW of mountain view and they said if the car is not cpo'd then it is not transferable which wouldn't be correct since it has already been transferred once.
Please Advice as I'm getting to sign papers this Thursday. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in Advanced.

Same here. 335. Driven hard daily Only maintenance and it's FBO. I e had 1 HPFP , some injectors ( normal for any DI cars ), and that's it.

im currently looking at cars with a 100,000 miles on isn't it the bolt ons that cause the issues for this car / engine.

+1.... The '07 model 335 is not worth it. Its the first year they introduced it. Try looking for '09 (updated infotainment system.. MUCH better than the trash in 08-09--that is if you want nav/infotainment screen).

if you are going after an 2007 do your research and buy one that has had all major recalls done already. Look to see how much work has been done along the way, if you are seeing tons of service receipts for mechanical/electrical issues then stay away.

I bought my 07 stock at 82k miles, no major mechanical work since the turbos were replaced under recall at 32k...i currently run it with jb4 and full bolt ons and its still going strong on the stock clutch.

again, just do your research and pick up a healthy car...an 07 doesnt automatically fall under the "its not worth it because it was the first year" category

These cars are luck of the draw people! Remember that '07 335I's were all assembled in Germany. Newer model years were assembled in South Africa.
