speaker problems arghhh!!!

HI

I have a e92 325i 2007 with prof nav ccc (DVD) Hi-Fi, B/T,

my problem is I have no real sound from the front left speakers, I removed the door card today, removed the speaker and tested it via another sound source, it worked well, but when I plug it back into my car with the balance/fader all the way over I get very faint sound, if the bal/fader is set to all speakers you can't really hear it unless you put it to your ear, So is going to be a bad channel on my amp? or the H/U not sending the correct signal? how would I test either to eliminate 1 or the other?
I don't want to upgrade the system with any aftermarket amps or H/U, I have my e46 for that!!, I want to keep the system stock, i'll just replace the broke bit or get it repaired (if poss)

Thanks for any input

Measure the resistenace on a good and bad channel

Measure the resistance on a good and bad channel
(From the amp connector). Subbing another amp is the most
direct way . I don't suppose it could be from the radio end but
that's possible to.
Have you tried just re seating the connector at the amp.

ohms

ohms
see wiring diagram sticky (at the bottom of sticky list)
For a Hi Fi it will measure around 3 ohms I believe.
Compare the left and right channel.
If they match then you need to sub and amp to go further.

You can also check the input and output voltage at the amp while playing a test tone or pink noise. Set your multimeter to ac and it should be the same for the left and right channels.

The tricky thing with the voltage is probing it.

The tricky thing with the voltage is probing it.
Without shorting something or messing up the wiring.
Also be sure to measure AC Volts.
