Has the rear of the car been different on other 3 coupe and sedans before?

I like the way it looks but I just don't understand why they would totally change the design of the car. Im just not going to believe anything until they come out with something official

I stand corrected. That makes sense. His description is still very accurate (saphire black - 335i - rear end description in the post quoted above)

You have a great memory Could it be the tail light design was originally supposed to be on the sedan as well but BMW decided they wanted to differentiate them? I like the coupe lights better as they seem to be more Bimmerish.

Agreed. The tail lights on the e90 sedan never really seemed to fit right like the rest of the car does.

I thought the tail lighs were a bit different at first but I really like them a lot right now. I don't know how you can define bimmerish because new 5 and 6's have very differnt tail lights as well...

I think they are bimmerish as they look like the updated E65/66 as well as the classic 8er coupes...I think they look nice.

having said that, this car is crying to be debadged

I hope that ain't it. Not feeling the tail lights. I think I'll keep my E90 if that's really it.

What's with the apparent exhaust fumes from the passenger side?
Curious how this pic fits some listmember's predictions to a T. Black sapphire, 335i label for E92, etc. Anything unusual about the roof, or is that just an odd reflection?

It's exactly how the E90 rear end should have been. Didnt buy an E90 just for that reason. Lines were great on the front and sides and the back ruined the whole effect. Sort of like an afterthought, imo. Most will agree one of the biggest exterior downfalls of the E90 are the rear tails.

I wonder if with all the "outrage" over the current e90 tails if this coupe tail design will find it's way into the 2-year redesign of the e90 that cars tend to have.

I think the E90 will change it's ass in two years from now, it will look more like the Coupe. BMW always do a facelift or asslift on any model, just check the new facelifted 7 series. Then we are all going to drive old looking models.

Looks dead on from the spy shots that we've already seen. now you can make out whats underneath that black tape. The lines and colors match up perfectly. Hmm. I think this is the real deal. *counting benjamins for down payment*

Possibly ... just a simple rear deck change and lights is all it takes to incorporate a new rear look. Hope it's more than 2 years though...
