Aren't they just renovating the shop? I'm not even in town right now, but I'll find out what's up.

Yeah Lutz Perf is gone. Last I heard, they were down in New Port Richey but I talked to a few of the people that used to work there and they aren't with them anymore. I'm not a huge fan of Andrew anyways. Everyone else there was awesome and they were the only reason I kept coming back.

Stage 2 Tune w/ 3 Stage

Hey Andrew!

Thanks for all your help with the AA Tune and Simon tool order! I appreciate it. I just have a few questions in regards to the Stg 2 tune w/3 stage:

*Does it increase the RPM limiter on Automatics? - I haven't seen it rev higher than 6900 +-100

*How long does it take to feel the full effect? Or is it a progressive thing?

*I've shaved off about .4-.6 seconds off my 0-60 time. It was at 7.3 sec 328i Stock(No 3 stage manifold), 6.8 sec w/ 3 stage manifold (no tune), and now about 6.4 sec w/ AA tune w/ 3 stage tune. Does that seem realistic? (Obviously the launch varies time to time, All these numbers are straight idle to WOT, no brake boosting)

*Lastly, was my file tuned for 91 or 93 octane? I didn't specify my octane, so I'm just curious as to what it was defaulted to. (I need 91)

Thanks!!

Not to but in but for 0-60 times ECS tuning has a 0-60 timer that replaces half of your air conditioner vent

7.3 0-60 stock seems very slow to me, should be right around low 6's.

Supposedly Stock 328i E90 is 6.8 Seconds. I did a lot of runs, with the best at 7 flat. Of course this is in Sport mode w/ traction off and a little brake boosting. With the AA tune and 3 stage manifold I was looking forward for at least a flat 6 second 0-60 run....but no cigar. I want to know exactly how much the AA tune is helping....I don't see much of a difference from stock ecu w/ 3 stage manifold vs AA tuned for the full use of my 3 stage manifold.

Emozoo, I've noticed you have very similar mods. What times are you getting?

Thanks!

~6.1 on a slight incline and I have an XI. If you dont have an automatic, upgrade gearing to 3.73 or w/e and you'll accelerate faster.

edit- you have an automatic.. idk where i thought you said you had a manual.

double edit- get lighter wheels like apex or forgestar f14s

Pretty sure those don't work, or need to be tuned for.

I've been wrong before, but I have a strong feeling I'm not this time...

There are no advantages to plasma coils unless you are misfiring on the stocks. This is a common misconception we get a lot in the n54 market.

I am really interested in getting your tune; however, I have some concerns which hopefully you will be able to address.

I had some gear rattle from my transmission. After several tries one of the bmw mechanics managed to minimize it by toying with computer in order to smooth out the idle, thus minimizing (almost eliminating) the rattle.

My question is: if I do your tune, will I lose the work he put in to address the gear rattle? I do not want to lose what he did.

Thanks

I have a CPO 2011 328xi (sulev/n51) with a lot left on the original warranty. I'm very interested in the AA tune + simon tool so I can flash back to factory for servicing, but I'm concerned about voiding the substantial remaining warranty.

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere in the thread but I couldn't find it.

Any real world experience / advice out there?

Thanks!

Any comments if the tune affects the existing idle settings? Also, do you have an average cost for doing custom tune? If you can pm me please with a price.

Thanks

Probably not the best example but working directly with the dealership my warranty isn't voided. At least on what's left anyway. I'm sure this isn't the same everywhere or maybe anywhere, dunno. All they asked me was if any of the BMW safety limits were exceeded or bypassed and they're not, was good enough for them. Obviously ymwv.

Stage 3 offroad tune and it still idles right at 650rpm. Pumps a bit on occasion but nothing to be concerned about as it settles out. Wouldn't surprise me if the solid mounts had something to do with that as the car comes to a stop sometimes. Doesn't worry me anyway.

Simply put - get it! It's amazing! If my wife feels a huge difference it must be major. A year + into it with 3 stage and a big difference!
