Replacing Stock rear with Mtech Rear
So I am planning on replacing my stock rear with a mtech rear. The only thing that is worrying me is that the mtech rear that I'm planning on picking up has 3 broken clips. Will these broken clips play a roll in poor fitment or is this not really a big deal? Also I would need to add pdc to the bumper, this should be something the body shop could do without many issues correct?

Which 3 clips are broken?
The previous owner of that bumper probably uninstalled the bumper incorrectly. You have to "slide" the bumper towards to back, not out to the side like most people do. I'm guessing adding PDC to the bumper shouldn't be a big deal for a shop. |

The body shop can easily repair the broken clips so no biggie. As for adding PDC holes, there should be marked circles behind the bumper where they cutout for that so you're good.

So it's possible, do you think it would cost a ton more? I'm hoping for the $300 range with a repaint

No but it depends on your relationship with the body shop. Just expect to pay up to $500 if they're willing to give you a decent deal with repaint.

I have a couple good friends with body shops. I got rear ended and the bumper got small deep scratch and some hair line cracks and I was quoted under $400 to sand it all down fill it and repaint it, so I figured this would be around the same price if not a little cheaper. And I know the guy will let me sand it down myself and prep it so I can save some money

Those clips don't even look like they need to be repaired, to be honest. There's also a good chance the shop might not even bother w/ it and just install as-is.

to fix, add PDC holes to bumper w/o them, and paint/install will be more than just buying an OEM w/ PDC already on it and getting it painted i think..

Well a rep from M0dBarg is $525 shipped and they also need to be drilled for pdc, and one of there reps told me that it needs to even be sanded down and such before being primed. Unless there's a cheaper alternative? I can't imagine OEM being cheaper then a rep.

I mean in all honesty I could prob drill some holes in the damn bumper and sand them down to make it smooth lol, prob won't be very hard. Just worried about mounting the brakets that hold the actually sensors

I think so. On the top side, there's a bolt closest to the wheel which will hold everything. That, and the other bolts on the fender liner, as well as the many screws on the bottom, support the whole thing.
But of course other things factor in, like, are you skimping out on the mount brackets? Some recommend skipping the mtech rear mounts and simply bending the tabs... |
