Your already tuned using a non dealer/warranty approved performance tune so it doesn't really matter which FMIC you go with. Your warranty probably wouldn't get hassled for any FMIC, because your only making the car run more efficiently and effectively. When you go in for service or when something goes wrong or breaks just flash back to stock. That is the convenience of a Cobb tune. My recommendation for FMIC always goes to ER (Evolution Racewerks) because their time attack n54 uses the same FMIC and has been proven many times over. But it's all personal preference, almost any reliable brand FMIC should be a lot better than what we have as stock.

Cobb protune, Cobb FMIC.
Nothing else except ER chargepipe and stock DVs.
I may get downpipes later.
The car is very fast now compared to stock.

It's kind of your miles may vary based on your dealership and reputation/relationship with the service manager. There really is nothing that can go wrong with an IC besides the piping being blocked/plugged, or installed incorrectly. I would talk with them first and explain to them how much it benefits the car. If they are not feeling it, just install one that does not require cutting until your warranty is up, they are really easy to R&R...

Man, that's impressive! Thanks for the info. I am in Dallas so there is a cobb shop a few miles away. I wonder if you decide to do DPs later if a new protune would be needed.

If I get downpipes a new tune would be needed, but you get a discount on an upgrade tune, $99, I believe.
The protune really is worth it, I was originally running 405/430 but was spiking on the logs, detuned a little bit of boost to have a long turbo/engine life, can probably get back closer to 400whp with downpipes. The car runs exceptionally well, especially after having walnut blast done at 45,000 miles.

I plan to uninstall the cobb tunning prior to gooing to the dealership. So with with the Dinan intercooler, I will not have any problem at all. In short, I will be able to run the Stage 1+ with full garanty!

Am i right?

I think protune is next for me, but I wish the free flash setup is supported. Right now, it's still Cobb :/

May just buy a used V2 and do it...

Yeah see since I'm looking for increased throttle responsiveness (and smoothness), longevity, and a specific power delivery profile rather than max power, pro tuning is really the best option.

I think that will be one of my pre-winter (snow) projects...

How were your valves looking at 45k? I'm at 43k and thinking about doing it

They were pretty filthy and my rpm's would jump around at idle.
Runs much better after!

I will be getting them done next month for sure, my idle def jumps up and down sometimes

I might keep it stock for a few months while I figure out what I want to do. I bought the car CPO w/ extended warranty just four days before I left on a 2 month business trip. Going to be home this weekend. The idle seems smooth and it's only at 31k. There is an Indy shop that will do the walnut blast pretty cheap so I might get that done as a precaution.

I need to get my V1 mounted up and get clear tint on the front windshield and sunroof first!

Since Cobb is just a few miles away I might have them do it all. They did a great job on my old protune stage 2 WRX a couple years ago.

Hey I just installed the DVD In Motion in the IS over the weekend. Kinda pricey but works like a charm. They even removed my "Nav" disclaimer at start up for no cost

I need to get a 335is already....

Anyone wanna trade for an old 08. Stock. I gotta take all my aftermarket parts and put it on the 335is... I know, it sounds like a terrible trade. But I'll also throw in free backrubs for 1 year....
