Marr marks on SG (clear coat)

So I have marr/swirl marks from improper washing. Now they key is to remove them, not hide them. I've been reading extensively at some detail forums and I am torn between the following products from Menzerna, Poorboys, and Optimum. Does anyone have any experience with these products on a dark colored vehicle and applied with a D-A buffer (Porter Cable)?

Never tried poorboys ssr or optimum polish, but I have used Menzerna IP via a porte cable with great success on bad swirls.

It Sucks! This has bothered me to no end for the past two days. I will resolve it at some point.

As much as I am sick of silver (have had 3 silver BMWs since '98) it is so much easier to care for. Extremely low maintenance.

I noticed slight swirls the second day after delivery, I think the dealer is not that great of a detailer.

I had a huge mess with my car, actually had all cat prints and scratches all over it. I bought Zaino ZPC and that stuff took them out completely. it was a bit slow doing the entire hood, but once i was done it was 100% perfect - no swirls, no marks, nothing. Put a coat of polish on the car and you've learned your lession.

Did it really remove them or just hide them?

I've never been sold on the whole Zaino thing. Personally I think it's hyped.

With PC and some light polish and polishing pad, you should have no problem removing those marks. Take your time and work the polish for a while until it is almost gone. I have used Poorboys SSR 2.5 and SSR1 with decent success. They will remove the marks completly.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be glad to help out.

Thanks Steve, just placed a large Poorboys order. Plan to start with SSR1 and work my way up. Best plan of action!

Let me know. Reply here is you don't mind.

I ordered SSR1, SSR2, SSR2.5, EX-P, and the wheel sealant. I figured I might as well plan for the future because I do not want to have to reorder later and then wait. When I wait to do something, I want to do it that very momment.

Yes, I did.

I also purchased some Lake County pads. (1) German polishing pad, (2) White polishing pads, and (1) Red finishing pad, along with two Grit Guards.

I need to get me some decent sheepskin wash mitts and MF buffing towels. I certainly hope the money spent is worth it.

I am going to a 3 bucket wash system. Soap & Water, Water (rinse) and another with soap and water for the wheels only (use my old bucket).

Sounds like your on the right track. I find when picking a polish it depends on you, every polish is different.

I have Mez, Poorboys, Optimum, Zaino ZPC. They all act differently. Poorboys makes some great products and you will like the polishes alot. My only problem is they flash to quickly and can leave some dusting depending on your conditions. Dusting is usually with SSR1. Optimum has a very long flash time, thats my only beef with it. Regular Mez products are good but personally Menzerna CeramiClear P085RD Polish is my absolute favorite. However you cant get this in the USA anymore. But Menzerna CeramiClear PO106FF has replaced, its 95% the same and has gotten the same reviews. Stuff is not cheap but ive never used anything like it. 50 bucks per 32ozs My favs are P085RD then the poorboys, then Optimum then regular Mez line. Zaino i usually use by hand as a paint cleaner!!
