i am guessing you have un-screwed the accelerator pedal by now. it was a bit challenging, but there are 2 clips on each end, and just put a bit finess and power, and you'll get it out. it finally popped out for me, just kept doing the same thing. don't know how to explain better than that. any1 else can explain better?

No joke. My M-Tech pedals took me about 3 hours to install. Drilling through the steel brake pedal is what took me so long.

I also gave up tiring to install the pedals as my big frame could not get tucked into compartment to do this job.

My dealer charged me 1 hour labor for the install so I called them on it. They said that the accelerator pedal required coding. I’m having a hard time believing this as the pedal should be calibrated at the factor within a tolerance. It is at least possible that these pedals might require some coding as they fit all 3 series but I really doubting this.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Yup, I have the same instruction as well. Most instruction will include notes for any after market products or they manufacturer can not be held liable for a screwed up install as they provided reasonable details.

If they are lying I will file a complaint for unethical conduct. Oddly, this large dealership owner lost his rights to sell Ferraris due to overcharging there clients a few years ago for services.

I think your dealer is BS'ing too Orb, I watached the tech install mine (took him about 12 minutes for all 3) and he didn't recode anything.

You right. I took the old one apart (more like destroyed it) and nothing more than a hall effects sensor with a few transistors/resistors so no intelligence of any sorts. What a load of crap from at least what the guy said. Still very possible there may be some ECU coding for calibration but it just doesn't make any sense at all?

Any BMW Tech on the board know about this?

just installed mine...

the most important thing is to install the new clutch and brake pedals on the bottom first, then use the big flaps on the sides to stretch out and cover the top

oh and don't try to install the rubber first and then the medal... it won't work

I'm having this debacle right now. I tried to remove the metal and put the rubber on first then put the metal back on but that will definitely not work. I have the brake pedal on now but the rubber is popping out on the top and on the left side. It took me so long to get that far I may just leave it. Debating it right now.

On the accelerator pedal, the screw that holds it in has no place to unscrew it (i.e. no place to put a screw driver to remove it). Was everyone elses like this? If so, how did you remove that screw. It almost seems like a bolt to me because of the smooth top.

Its a little plastic cap, take a small screwdriver and pop it out.

I wonder if these would match the m deadpedal better than the alum. ones.. i personally dont like the design of the alum OEM bmw ones..

I put in the m dead pedal with the stainless pedals and it all looks great.

+1... just got M footrest and the stainless steel pedals installed yesterday. They look perfect. Also matches with interior aluminum trims. BMWNA should have put these as standard equipment.

I bought my from Tischer BMW. (www.getbmwparts.com) It's only $20 and is an easy install. There's a DIY thread on it I recall. You just have to pull hard to remove the original one and the M3 footrest fits right in. Get it, you'll love it! It's a perfect fit with the stainless steel pedals and our aluminum trim.

I NEED HELP!!!! CAN ANYONE CLARIFY how to put the break pedal pad in (auto-trans).. I've been trying n still havn't got it.. which side shud I put in first? r there any tools that wud help? any lil tips wud help... ITS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!!!! thanks
