ECS Brake Caliper Guide Pin Bushings

I just saw these at ECS, I had been looking at the brass guide pin bushings from bimmerworld, but the ECS ones seem to have figured out the dirt/dust issue with a provision for a cap on the end.

Has anyone run these? Are they new?

Yep, these are new. They weren't available just a few months ago when I bought the bimmerworld bushings. Looks like I might upgrade to these, since it will reduce the maintenance due to the sealed design.

Nice find!

We just released them, great eye. The guide pins constructed of 304 Stainless Steel and bushings made of oil impregnated bronze paired with the sealed design these are a great low maintenance upgrade for your braking system!

Haha, I just bought a bunch of brake stuff last week. I would have picked these up too if they had been out! Do you know where the o-ring goes? I can't see anywhere for it that would keep pressure on both sides.

Interesting idea for all those 335i caliper retrofits gaining popularity. I still wonder how frequent the maintenance cycle should be

ECS always seems to have some new cool stuff. Just ordered a set for the rear brakes as I needed to order some other stuff as well.

You guys are brutal! Sorry I missed the updates to the thread.

davidwarren Cloud9blue since you're the 1st two in the thread. PM me if yall are interested in writing a review, in exchange for a discount on the bushings. I'll need an ETA of when you'll be able to complete it as well.

PM'ed!
I have my new front brake pads sitting in my garage waiting for installation. So I could get them in as soon as have them in hand!

PM'd! ECSTuning

Would be nice to see an installation guide though, since I would be doing the install on my own.

Darn! I should have waited 2 weeks to buy from ECS! I got the ones from Bimmerworld and the brake pedal feel IS improved under heavy braking.threshold braking. This is a great mod for autoX or track days. Not to mention, improved pad wear when it comes time to replace them which is good. I actually plan to buy the ECS kit also and transferring the bimmerworld ones I have to the rear calipers.

I don't think you can do that. Your front caliper has one pin longer than the other. The rears are the same.

Yes, it is possible. The ECS does have one pin longer than the other. However, The universal BMW kit I got from Bimmerworld is equal length pins that also work in the front, Although not ideal, because lets in a bit more dirt/debris; But they work. Therefore I can transfer the kit I have now and put it in the rear calipers and get the ECS kit with the dust covers for the front.

did you not get the 335i/M1/M3-specific front set? Just wondering.
