It feels 'different to what I was expecting. Steering is more pointy Raj not so sure I'd be 100% comfortable re camber finesse v tyre wear issues TBH, but there's a plan afoot moving forward re all this

Yep well chuffed re the outcome on this as you saw the seat pre work had 'suffered a tad' it was returned by Mr Magoo it would seem just before I picked the car up and had quickly started to show signs of wear/poor repair it felt like the duff ace had detached from the leather in fact. If you look at the first picture you can see visually the theory would appear to be supported.

But post work they've come up a treat, only the stitching which had disappeared as you'll see on the picture is the only noticeable area but to be fair most of thst damage was done before this refurb had taken place and even then it msy of to a degree been eroded by 6 or do years of getting in and out

As said Umut well happy with the end result the leather feels supple the grain texture of Dakota leathers been retained as well and the colour match is spot on too

Now regarding the drive as stated picked up on the tightness straightaway however until everything at the front end is all sorted difficult to say with tracking done at work it feels different down partly to the camber limitations. But that's for a future read.

Leather wise yep done a good job overall better way better than the seat was originally.

As for wheels well for the moment they've had to go on the back burner partly down to the wonders of domesticity and partly down to something going on Mod June
Thanks Steve, interesting! You've got me intrigued about what's coming in June now... I'm thinking perhaps suspension?

Found out that my June dates been shifted back a little but got a surprise instead which will be added once everythings in place...rather looking forward to the proposed work being undertaken most proably early/mid July

Anyway's we've opted to divide the workshop up and have one area as a designated diagnostic bay where we can do all sorts of checks in one area inclujding programming, upgrades software updates(which is what my car was having when the photo was taken)hence the sign

Dates actually didn't bother me Seb TBH, it is what it is but the dates were shifted due to trying to combine several company's and all that to be in the same place at once but it'll be worthwhile once everything slots in to place and you'll be able to read about it in print in the next 2-4 monthsbut its nothing to do with A1 though this time

Ah progress again slow but this little gem from Taiwan once repainted and fitted appears to be a real catch

fit finish is superb, now in the "correct shade" of Space Grey the looks spot on very OEM in fact

a couple of checky snaps from the left for the sheer hell of it

Might remove the 335i badge completly or replace it with a black one then up next is something rather tasty

Great job Steve, it's come out fantastic! Your car is my favourite "OEM+" on here, the touches are subtle but so effective. You just look at it and immediately think "it looks so much better than mine!" but can't quite put your finger on why that is. I like that.

Re the badge, I personally think you should remove it completely - I prefer the cleaner, symmetrical look without it and it adds to the fun when people underestimate your car, and then you smoke them

Your too kind I'm quite comfortable with how it looks when I drive around people look, which considering I haven't done too much to it means to the eye I must of got something right, I think some look to see if it's different or not I don't know, but it seems to work.

Coilur match Raj was important the spoiler when it came though was for the money flawless if the colour had been right for my car I'd of been over the moon, fsct was it's not the suppliers fault there's a good few shades of Space Grey the finish was A1 the colour was just too much if a gap for my liking.

As for the badge still undecided I quite like the black badge look but cannot deny the debadge route also works

One thing that has been in the background has been the Achilles heel of 335i ownership and that is turbo issue. Over time a little more so on light throttle and when backing off or holding throttle at around 2.500 to 3k the dreaded wastegate rattle has reared its ugly head coupled with this I've noticed a small issue re light throttle smoothness aswell where there appears to be an issue re smoothness, but it's more centred upon the audio able wastegate rattle.

As the turbos are still under warranty the correct thing to do is as they are BMW supplied is to get BMW to inspect.

They have they are replacing both turbos so without my car at the moment as I'm awaiting 2 new turbos to go back inbut it goes to show the issue with these cars and I'm pleased to say BMW's approach to the situation which I must say is refreshing

And then with new oil(I was going to do an oil service this month anyway) it's back to me and time to enjoy....
