Both are options that you pay for to have mechanical/electronic gizmos that do things you are capable of doing yourself. Push a button to open a door, or push in the clutch and shift.

What if all we needed to open a lock for ANYTHING was a fob in our pockets?

Hmmm....
The technology already exists and a prototype house lock has been built. There is a guy around right now who has had an RFID tag inserted subcutaneously in his forearm/wrist. It is shaped like a grain of rice but is a bit bigger. It is the same thing that vets use when they "chip" your dog.

He has developed electric locks which scan for the RFID code and unlock the house's door when he reaches for the knob. The technology can also be used to turn on lights when you enter a room and do a thousand other things.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think it flies.

At the very least, the value proposition for the auto trans far outshines CA for those that prefer having things done for them.

Will the car start if the key is outside the car, like on a key hook just inside the house door?

Fair enough.
I have neither but would have CA if I did it over again.

CA was one of the options I would have loved to have but my car is a 06/05 production

Do you guys think CA will be an option on all the future BMW's? I think CA and alarm should be standard but that's just me

CA is the most awesome option on my car followed closely by the bluetooth phone. They aren't necessarily the most valuable or something I couldn't live without, but they are definitely the coolest options. Whenever I show someone my car for the first time, those are the first two things I point out to them, and they always think they are cool.

I cannot recall the actual product or manufacturer's name of the automatic toilet seat that I saw and experienced, but here is a similar concept:

Also, if you are interested in reading about Japan's toilet technology and general toilet obsession, here are a couple good reads:
