Vishnu Stg 2: Inital 91 octane dyno testing

As some of you guys know, we got our catless Riss Racing dps installed the other day. It's been raining for the last few days so we haven't been able to do too much road testing. Today, the weather cleared up and I took it to the dyno. Here are the results on 91 octane. Yes, we are talking pure Shell 91oct. No race gas mix. No fuel additives. Nothing. So basically, as "real world" as you can get.

Mods:
Vishnu Prototype intake
Vishnu Cat-back
Riss catless DPs
Max boost: 14.9psi

Still running stock bypass valves and stock intercooler.

Condition:
~65F/38% Humidity
STD Correction of 1.0

For the sake of drivability and transmission longevity, I limited torque output.

Results: 390whp/390lbft

I'll post the dyno results up later this afternoon. But I think you guys will be very surprised by the shape of the curve we managed to dial-in

The notion of making 400whp on 93oct is now a reality.

UPDATE: Dyno Graphs

To give you an idea of what kind of tuning is involved when you have RPM/load specific control over timing, fuel and boost, here's a bunch of runs from today's tuning session (at various levels of tune):

Here's what we ended up with (peak HP at a Fergalicious 6500rpm):

Here's that final map with user torque set to 94%, 90% and 88%. Notice how power and torque are scaled so that they remain roughly even as you go up and down in User Tq values:

Cheers,
Shiv

With catback intake and DPs you mean. Are you planning on tuning for just the DPs and not the exhaust and intake.

Shiv, how about high flow cats? Is there a significant difference in the tune or would we be able to use the same map regardless?

Great work by the way man!

E90post feels so peaceful now. Like when I first got here.

Shiv,
When you say max boost= 14.9, do you mean that you had all of the settings at max boost? I'm curious what the % across the board looked like. Was it 100% across the board, or was it lower because of the 91 octane.
If it was lower than 100%, could you provide the settings?

1+ he must have some special settings, he said he limited the torque output.

He couldn't have set it up to 100%, the octane is what compensate for the extra power, not the DP i believe.

I don't know about "special" settings.
I'd just like to know the settings of the boost throughout the power band.

I want DPs, but I want to see a tune for JUST DPs and what power they make, not with all the other stuff because theres no way of knowing how much power the DPs themselves are adding.

Very interesting. I also would like to know about high flow cat downpipes and if you plan to tune for those when they are released or if you feel one downpipe map could do both applications.

Shiv's car made about 365whp without the DP's....so it looks like a 25whp gain.

I would like to know the same question please. I am planning on ordering Procede V2, Procede Exhaust, UR catted DP and am hoping this will be the same map as well. Great work Shiv! Can't wait to get my car in a month!

Problem is you can't assume that because he has catback, could be that 10 or so of that HP gain gets choked out on the stock exhaust. Guess most people will get both though, all the "full catless sounds like shit" talk worries me though.

Peak gain is about 25whp. Power gains above 6500rpm is 50-70whp

Update: Dyno graphs now attached to first post

Good point. DPs seem to be quite expensive....so they better perform.

And how much is the intake helping out on the power?

whats funny when we first posted the Riss Racing dyno numbers way back when... there were a few dozen people saying "yea right", "the peak numbers are from boost spike" etc etc.

but to make 50-60whp at 7000rpm... wow!

i guess after tracking times, and really impressive HP gains with V2.0 and Riss Racing DP's we can see that they really make a huge difference and a must for a 335!

That's my point, I know its not shivs responsibility to demonstrate their gains, but I was hoping to see a tune for an otherwise stock car with downpipes and the gains from that.

Will this tune even be compatible with only DPs? Seems like, especially with the exhaust, it wouldn't.
