we need more info on more than just these 2..there are so many more!!!! i am still confused what you need to modify for the AA fmic oh and i have a 335xi loaner with no cooler cause i was getting the clips installed for the seat belt extenders... you know the new emi recall if you've had issues...well the 335xi loaner is about a million times more jerky than mine with the dinan tune...but the temp is crazy..without the oil cooler the car heated up in 5 mins...mine with takes about 20 mins...with the same driving style...how long does it take with these fmic's? it takes so long to begin with..is it like 30 mins with one of these fmic's?

You already have it. Hold down the button in you gauge cluster for like 30 seconds, a menu will come up. hold it for three seconds to go through menus, theres 19. add the last, I think 5 numbers, of your vin (it comes up in the first menu) and put this number into number 19s menu. This will unlock the rest of the menus. Go to menu 7 and you have coolant temp in Celsius.

Wow. I had no idea.
You're talking aobut the turn blinker button to go through the MPG, miles left, etc right?
Hope you're not talking about i-drive because I dont' have it.

There is a plastic shroud behind the bumper that needs to be cut (we shorten the fan shroud). It is just a little peice of black plastic. When reinstalling the factory intercooler it does not cause any problem.

There are a lot of factors to think about when choosing an intercooler. I have seen many of the intercoolers that are available for this car and all of them are good and all of them decrease charge air temps.

Our intercooler project took us about 7 months to complete due to different designs we have tried. One of the major concerns we had was ease of install and increase in thermal efficiency. Since many dealerships sell our products as options in new cars, we could not make anything that required any cutting or trimming. We tried taller, wider, thicker, etc. and our final product was/is what you see out there now. Our TE tests are not done with a scanner rather we tests our intercoolers with temp probes at the inlet and outlet of the intercoolers. This allows us to isolate the performance of the intercooler itself more accurately. Dyno testing gives us a good idea of the performance increase but things like tire pressure, fan velocity, etc. can affect the numbers. Most of the charge air cooling happens within the first 6" of the core so going "larger" does not always mean better. Maximizing airflow to the radiator, intercooler and near doubling its thermal efficiency with minimal pressure drop has given us excellent results.
