It's all about change

The Democrats and the Republicans who are running for President of the United States all are calling for change. What is change?

Here's an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Newt Gingrich addressing this issue.

If you have listened to Newt Gingrich in interviews and read about his ideas, you might have the idea I do that he would be a good presidential running mate for whomever wins the Republican nomination.

That generic statement is likely generally accepted by 98% of the population sans the four letter word. But it is far too generic to mean anything at all. More specificity is needed.

What I would really like to see in this thread, though it may not get any response if limited to it, is information about what should be done, rather than what should not be done. When you say what should not be done, you have not given any solution at all.

It's all about marketing. Election campaign is no different than promoting a movie or selling beer. Politicians know (and create) various receptors in the brains of the American people. Then they transmit carefully tuned messages that activate the receptors and create in the American people a euphoric feeling of being a part of the political process. There is of course no real process and no real freedom of choice. More like a freedom to choose between Coke and Pepsi. BTW, some say there is a big difference.

That might be a good idea. Maybe it would eliminate most of the frauds and cults. Maybe in the FairTax it would be so. After all, the tax is on money spent, rather than income.

Who is a fraud and what is a cult?

Please provide a definition.

An acceptable DEFINITION consists of 2 parts:

1. Genus proximum (general approximation)
2. Differentia specifica (specific difference)

You've got the stage.

One of them is discussed over here: Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers? Perhaps a different thread would be best to discuss other cults and frauds. This thread should be about change.

What is Christianity?

The answer to your question is neither. I haven't had a chance to browse this web much yet, but in a quick perusal it looks like a pretty good description.
