So I got this cheap pump and reservoir from Amazon hoping test out an intercooler sprayer.

But there's a problem. The pump doss not stop the flow of water. So when the pump if off, water still flows out due to gravity.

Is there a such thing as a Anti Siphoning Valve? I know there's a check valve but that only stop water in one direction.

I need a valve/device to stop this low pressure water.

You need a check valve, and maybe a solenoid that is controlled from the same activation as the pump. They do make anti-syphon devices, google them. Most of them are used for aquariums.

I would imagine it will take quite a lot of water to cool the Intercooler. What about a carbon dioxide system?

The CryO2 system is super expensive and plumbing is complicated. At that point you would be better off going with meth injection.

Just check on washer fluid check valve. I had same problem when I made my Ic sprayer with headlight washer pump. I end up using a washer fluid check valve from subaru( coz I work at Subaru now). Works perfect. It was like 7bux a piece I think.

Doesn't have to be that system, just a spray bar, solenoid, and plumbing.

No. i did not take any pictures or anything. in fact, i wasn't sure if it help. it's just a little project i do in my spare time. its still cold up in canada, and i don't have any log to prove that it works or doesn't work. You know how e90 post ppl are, they would ask for prove of log and shit to see if it helps and stuff. 2nd part is, mechanical part. remove the hose going down to headlight washers. run my own hoses with the check valve. i used two windshield washer jets i have kicking around and just make it spray onto the ic. i put the washer jet upside down somewhere on top of the ic(i have a vrsf 5") make sure to zip tie all connections or you might have leak.

once it's all done. put bumper back on, and no one can even tell i have a sprayer there.

Very cool. I don't see how it can hurt, and it's such a cheap mod to do.

I checked all the local dealers. No one has em. I guess I'll have to order it.

Since I don't have the Headlight cleaner. I had to do a external reservoir for testing (Amazon $25 bucks). Eventually I'll drill and add a second pump into the factory wiper fluid reservoir.


I tried two different check valves:
Pet world - Useless! It's just a one way valve.
Local Salt water aquarium place - It kinda works, just but there's still a slight leak. And I think this restricted the flow (See video below)
Both were around $3.

Here's the kit & nozzle in action (The nozzles suck, there's no spread.):

Electrical I tapped into my Cigg lighter circuit. And added a custom timer relay module. This module will trigger a relay from the Cigg lighter circuit to the pump.

Here's it in action:

Once I get the subaru check valves and there's no more leaks. I'll do some logging as well.

Nice. Looking forward for your log. The subaru washer fluid check valve works great for me. Since its made for handling washer fluid, it will be good.

Google didnt lie, those are actual values. But you are dealing here is a difference. Look at the video again,
They start at 40c which is as per google, 104F
After misting it is 36c which is 96.8F.

So what is the difference? 104-96.8=7.2F

I was gonna use some extra meth nozzles I have laying around and yea off my meth set up so it sprays under boost in its own
I deff wanna take some logs to see if it helps or not..
Shot a lot of cars come from the factory with them although it's up for debate with the evos.. Some say it's to clear the IC from mud surfing rallies

Anyways I'm using a lot of meth as it is (i use BMW washer concentrate, free from work as I work for BMW and 99.8 meth so I run straight meth)

Yeah, I didn't realize it until you brought it up. And thanks for this!

All I know is my computer runs at 31-39c, other than that celsius is a huge mystery to me

One thing to watch for is. Depend what nozzle/jet you guys use to spray. It is possible to spray too much. It takes time for the fluid to evap off the Ic core. If spray too much, fluid will just drop off. Last thing you want is to have fluid all over the rear tires when going wot.
