So, after tuning my car with the PROcede (first v1.47 and then v2 of course), I used my Beltronics Vector FX1 accelerometer to measure the speed. However, I wanted to see the "official" measurable improvement at the track. I already knew my car was significantly faster than stock, but I thought running at the track would be fun! My goals were to run 13.0x sec. with v1.47...which I did. Then, with v2, my goal was to run <13.0 sec. @ 110mph+...which I did!!!! It's really as simple as that.
I can see your point!

Yeah, the Beltronics Vector would've been enough for me.. that thing is the shiz and alot more constant than a time slip. Repeatability on that is better than a dragstrip, because it completly eliminates reaction time out of the equation.

cheerz!

Reaction time doesn't affect your 1/4 miles time... (only if you are doing bracket racing)

Although many will argue that's just not accurate enough, when I tested my Vector FX1 at the track, it stayed within 0.2 sec. and ~ 0.5 mph of the track's official ET and Trap. I thought that was fairly accurate.

True. The first time I went to the drag strip I thought it did.

ET and Trap Speed in my sig certainly doesn't mean I have a low self worth and need to overcome "personal deficiencies." Actually, quite the opposite. In my field, anyone with these kinds of personality traits will fail very quickly. I think most ppl are proud of their 1/4 mi. times as they provide a sense of achievement.
gator,

I agree. I really was just making a rash response to the person who clearly generalized the people who purchase Dinan products. It was really a joke.

Take care,

My generalization was to get you dinan people, who according to you, are looking to impress others, to the track. Make sure you post your results to the thousandths.

And my generalization is, for the most part, correct. Also, LOL @ Garrett commenting on 1/4 tracks...knowing just enough to have no idea what he's talking about...as usual.

getting under a 1.9 60 ft w a 6MT is more difficult than you might think. I have not tried it with drag radials on, but w/ street tires.......good luck on consistent sub 1.9s.

I totally agree getting under a 1.9 on the stock tires would be very difficult. It would take a lot of practice and a smelly clutch. With DR and a good driver it can be done.

And their getting better every few months. But their CONSTANT. Even if they read 0.02s off what the strip said, the same run would produce the same results... because those things are accurate.

Sure there is a big difference (typo) but that doesn't change my point...! That no matter what you do, it will be constant for you to repeat. Then see what upgrades do for your car. Much more so that a few passes at a dragstrip.

Best thing about it, they a better cross reference amongs board members, than even traps at the dragstrip.

I'm sure that the Vector FX1 makes good readings, but I like to go to the strip myself so I can make some legal passes.

+1.....and you can actually trust the results. The only sub 13 second pass I managed, my Gtech told me I ran a 13.0x so I didn't know what I ran until I returned to the starting line. I was happily surprised w/ a 12.8.
